Hi there
I've just seen your posting about seeing Dr H in Penrith. I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say that I was diagnosed by him in September of last year, and I have found him to be really good. I don't have anything to compare with, but he certainly wasn't trying to prove that I don't have it, which seems to be the case with other specialists. So far he has not been able to do anything about coaching/talking therapies, but I think he is working on it. I hope your appointment goes well.

The Tories are still clinging on and they are about to team up with a political party that denies climate change, is anti-abortion, sectarian and homophobic. Don't forget creationist. There must be a lot of Tory voters wondering if this is the price of power, is it worth it? Theresa May might have won the battle, but she lost the war. This Yes There is hope for the future, thank you

I bet you're on pins? If any of the stuff I've concluded is actually true, the path to help/medication should be much smoother for ADHDers now. We are high value assets, once we're helped out of the bin bag we've been trapped in all our lives. Central know this. They must also have realised we will be key to reversing the deficit, even those that may fail a QALY/TCO style assessment - their kids are likely to have ADHD too so not treating the adult is akin to condemning the future of the nation, IMHO. Best of luck

I'm sorry to hear this gc7 although I'm not surprised. I got no points for PIP despite also having a physical disability. I couldn't face appealing as I've been going through the NHS complaints system and I'm lucky enough to have some savings and a part-time (minimum wage) job. The only thing we can do is to campaign, lobby and educate people about ADHD. . . and it shouldn't have to be up to us to do this, but no-one else will. I've been looking at the Equality Act to see if a case might be made that the benefits system and certain CCGs are discriminating against people with ADHD. . .but my brain's not playing today because I've had very little sleep this week and I can't take in the information. . I've also been trying to get some information from the NHS Constitution, but it's highly technical.

Hi gc7 I'm involved in this campaign attentionuk.wordpress.comto get an All Party Parliamentary Group to discuss ADHD nationally. There's a Thunderclap campaign . .unfortunately the government is in a bit of disarray at the moment . . . I would encourage anyone to write to their MP . .
