Hi
praxxtorcruel . . I think the CCGs try to make things as difficult as possible so most people will just give up!
CCGs are all independent and have their own way of working.
Who did you talk to at the CCG? Have you tried making enquiries through PALS?
I'm not entirely clear about your situation. .correct me if I'm wrong. . .
Your GP wrote directly to the Maudsley and Maudsley has requested IFR from your CCG
which hasn't been received?
In my case, my GP has to ask CCG for IFR and specify where I would like to be referred to.
Do you have a copy of the letter from Maudsley? Have you double-checked that they sent it
to the right place, or if the CCG actually accepts IFR requests from clinicians other than ones
you're currently being treated by? It may be that your GP needs to make the request. . .
they can send a copy of the Maudsley request as part of this.
If the CCGs PALS has an email address it might be worth starting from the beginning and asking
about the process of submitting an IFR . . .
ie. Dear PALS, my GP would like to refer me to Maudsley for ADHD assessment and I understand
that an IFR needs to be made to the CCG.
Who can make the IFR and what information do they need to provide?
Where do they send it?
Does the CCG acknowledge receipt of IFRs, if so, when might an acknowledgment be expected?
How long after submission of IFR should a response/decision be expected?
Do I get a copy of all correspondence?
These are the kind of questions PALS is designed to answer. Apologies if you've already tried this.
You could also ask for help from citizens advice, or look into getting an advocate from a charity,
such as Mind, or other local MH/health access charities. . .
If you're still getting nowhere try Healthwatch for your local area. .they all do slightly different things. .
mine helped me get an advocate to help me with my many NHS complaints
