Hi There. I have been 'battling' with my son's behaviour for some time now, but as he has become older it is becoming more evident that we have a serious problem that must be addressed. My Son is underachieving at School currently working at bout 6 years level. He constantly talks which is exhausting, cannot sit still, is distracted all the time, unable to concentrate for more than a few minutes. He can't cope with school work at all, hardly sleeps before 11pm shattered in the mornings obvs. I need to help him, and frankly I need to help me, I am a single mum at the end if my tether. I have seen my GP who has referred him to CAMHS and school nurse, anyone who can help out there?

Take him to your gp with a letter from school outlining their issues and do not get out of the chair until a referral has been made for assessment. Also don't be frightened of getting in contact with social services, I put off this for ages but i have found them to be an invaluable tool (Maureen Canning you are my hero) school can refer to social services or you can refer yourself. You have a long battle ahead and the more support you get will help get a bettet outcome for you and your child love and best wishes Claire and Bailey
