Primary Researcher: Ciara McKay
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) creates and updates health guidelines to improve the quality of health and care services. These guidelines have become increasing influential to those within medical professions and the health and social care practitioners; they are not mandatory but have shown a provided guide to treatments for developmental disorders. Researchers have found a common prevalence of depression and ADHD through all ages of a lifespan. The aim of this study is to investigate whether the NICE Guidelines are being adhered to within Depression and ADHD and whether people are receiving the appropriate treatments for their disorder.
Those of you who wish to take part in this study will be assigned to one or two questionnaires based on your condition. Participants will be asked to answer a series of multiple-choice questions as well as open-ended questions that will enable you to elaborate on your answer. Questionnaires will be available on The Bristol Online Survey (2018) and will take no longer than 20 minutes in total. There is no follow up for this study.
The information collected from this study will be shared only between Ciara McKay, Dr M. Thomas and internal/external marking moderators. Data from this study will be stored until the dissertation is complete and then be deleted destroyed. Anonymity and confidentiality is very important within this study, you will not be asked any personal information, for instance your name or to identify yourself in any noticeable way. If you wish to review the findings of this study, it will be available on request on once the study is completed.
To take part in this study you must have or have had ADHD and/or Depression. The purpose for this requirement is because the questionnaire is based around your specific treatment and management of these two conditions. Any gender and 18+ can take part in this study. You must not attend Bath Spa University.
