Sorry I deleted the other comments I made. I went to a meeting with these guys yesterday and it was amazing and everything I need in one place. They introduced us to a new team that provides probably the most complete service IV seen so far. So....I'm going to start again from scratch it's going to cost £1000 (600 if on benefits and 850 without the telephone support I think) and that covers you for a year from assessment to safely getting you on the right meds and follow up support (you can actually phone them up and they will talk to you) and on top of that the charity is on hand for any additional help. It all costs money but the costs are a bargain if you ask me and these people are truly angry about the way the health service treats us. The ADHD team is called ADHD 360 and work around different parts of the country. ADHD-360.com Could this be moved to review section please? I have no idea how to. I start in 2 weeks so I'll let you know if it lives up to its promise 🤞

wow @jessop
my worry about the private route is the time it may take and the private prescriptions before you get to a point where they can work out a shared care agreement with NHS. I dont want something that starts out looking like it mmight cost 400quid all in to end up baing a continuous money pit with no idea where the total might end up.
The service covers the cost of consultant psychiatrist diagnosis, and follow up appointments during titration? And theres someone you can talk to during the process any time? and they are able to work to the standards the NHS need to be able to agree to take over prescribing under shared care? Covers the costs of issuing prescriptions?
Presumably doesnt cover the costs of the meds...
EDIT>>>>just had look at that link to adhd 360, Im a suspicious type by nature, and this line leapt at me errm i dont like that sort of emotive stuff, it screams shiny suit sales tactics...... Like i said im a bit suspicious about a lot of stuff and have missed out on doing things because of it, this might just be me, .....
Let uis know how it goes
EDIT2>>>>>they are registered with the Care Quality Commission, and on the CQC website it says adhd360 set up in April 2019 but hasnt been inspected yet and theres no info about them at all....But i guess there wouldnt be info about a brand new provider, who hasnt been inspected yet, and being brand new doesnt make it guaranteed to be shit. Theres a lot of shysters want to make money out of health concerns , and we are only getting ever closer to the USA model of medical care and practice... Personally id be worried about committing a large sum of money to these people, its the language on the website as much as anything else that bothers me

Yep they get the meds RIGHT Yep it's all covered the way it should be. I know it's a grand but IV now met them all they spent time to actually take time to talk to me and also listen. Also they and the charity will roast any doctor who refuses to get on board with a very successful appeals record. My experience with the NHS here has been criminal I'm too angry to explain the way they behave. IV had my confidence destroyed by them and it's affecting other treatments I'm supposed to be having. Sound like a salesman 🤢 fucking hate salesmen. But like you say they need to live up to the hype and I do believe they can after meeting them.

sorry man Im no t meaning to be negative or critical i come across a bit lke that sometimes but yeah you got to go with how you feel and what your own experience is with them.. you dont sem like a gullible type, from what little we know of each other.. My experience , so far, with the NHS has been brilliant, i just want to be able to fast forward this next 12-18 months to get an official diagnosis, NHS struggle with funding, thats whats criminal , not the organisation themselves...Ive been a massive drain on them all my life, (including my head-on into one of their am,bulances, ) theres only one or two people I've dealt with Ive had a genuinely negative experience with.... Successive governments, even 'Labour' have continued to make lower taxation a priority over providing decent health and education for all of us, regardless of our background or location. EDIT>>>>>sorry thats totally off topic i guess, I hope this turns out to be what you've been looking for @jessop ,

I hope I'm not gullible lol I know there are great people in the NHS and I know that money is tight. But............ That is no excuse for blocking patients phone numbers Both landline and mobile I only got through when I used a payphone. They are unable to tell me where I am on the list of even give a idea of waiting times. I know know that it's 2 year wait and the cowardly cunts would rather ignore you than even pick up the phone. This is not my imagination lol first day I called I got through on my mobile second day my mobile keeps going to message and land line gets through 3rd day mobile nope landline nope so went to phone box tried mobile same time as phone box and guess what 😠 I told them to ram it take me off the fake list. A nurse call back to tell me that she's calling me back because I was expecting a call back (yeah yesterday and the day before that) who then tells me she has no news because she cannot access the list because the receptionist is off but then tells me they can see the list but don't know where Im On it🤣 I have major melt downs on the phone. I only phoned because a month ago I was advised to call now and then to see how I'm progressing up the list. When you speak to these people you can feel them squirming and struggling at all the questions I ask them lol and I warn them that the more shit they tell me the more questions I'll ask till they run out of fake answers and just unravel 🤪 I'm a master at that👍 don't do bullshit. All they had to do was be honest and I would just go away and get on with my life. Fuck sake you made me do it 🤣

are you saying it also covers the costs of the meds while titrating med and dosage?
I'm on benefts at the moment, first time in my life, 600 quid looks like a bargain, if they can do all that, include cost of private prescrittions and agree shared care handowver to your NHS GP I might give this a serious bit of thought.
Let us know
ahhh, manged to work oiut their very unintuitive, to me anyway, website and theres nothing down her ein the south west.
theres not really any info about timescales either.
But yeah, looks like an avenue worthh trying, specially as you have had some fucking shocking service from the NHS @jessop

No meds you pay for ontop but that should only be for 3 months a shared care plan should be in place by then.

I'm also very wary of new private companies and I wouldn't want to promote them until I've had feedback from someone who's used them.
I'm in a lot of online networks and groups for ADHD and have heard of 2 of the 3 founders.
Recently there has been a lot of promotion of an online skype assessment and treatment service
which has positive patient reviews, but I'm skeptical about a purely online service and people are
often finding it difficult to get their GP to agree to shared care prescribing.
What is encouraging about ADHD360 is that assessment is face to face and they've set up clinics
in areas where waiting lists are really long or services non-existent, which is good business sense.
(Manchester, Norwich, Lincoln, Sheffield, Leicester and London (London clinic at ADDISS ADHD charity)
They are also offering more than just assessment and meds, which is not usually available with private diagnostic services,
and not generally available in NHS services and I know there are a lot of people who can't or don't want to take meds
who often ask on here and elsewhere if there are private services which offer non-medical support.
@jessop please keep us updated I'm really interested to hear how you get on as I know the people
who run the Sheffield ADHD support group and know they get enquiries about private assessments.
I hope it goes well for you
EDIT: I have experienced good and awful NHS ADHD services and have also paid to see a private specialist to try medication
when I moved areas to one with NOTHING. The private specialist agreed that I would benefit from non-medical support,
but couldn't provive or recommend anything face-to-face.
