I'm 48, male, employed in same job for 9 years, 22 years really as I did similar for another company down the road and I've failed (given up on) getting a diagnosis.
Last attempt 5 years ago perhaps (No idea how long ago but guessed at that) and gave up after 40 minutes fighting a telephone anxiety/ depression service over the fact I'm not depressed just anxious about job because of my chaos. They did try to help by looking into the right service. There wasn't one in the whole of Cumbria. What about Lancashire I asked since I'm in Lancashire and my gp surgery is there too? They couldn't look different county.
I gave up but still wondered if I could find out if I had ADHD or whatever as I'm certainly not what people consider normal.
So does anyone know how to get a diagnosis? GPs don't seem to know who to refer me to despite saying it sounds like I've got ADHD, apparently I meet the criteria to get referred but they need hand holding to actually find where to refer.
Do you know of a service in Lancashire or Cumbria? I'm now in the latter but on the border and local NHS hospital Trust straddles it as does my gp practise.
I'm hoping someone knows who my gp should refer me to under NHS and I'll also consider private diagnosis as I have a little money put away. How much private?
If you want me to give symptoms before giving advice I'll tick off the ADHD symptoms I know about in another long post

I think Lancashire is split up into different areas, and one area was without a service recently.

www.adhdcumbria.org.uk/ - Support Group I found online in West Cumbria NHS website (https://www.cntw.nhs.uk/services/adult-adhd-service/) says: For patients who are registered in North Cumbria assessments and reviews are provided by Psychiatry UK ( psychiatry-uk.com/) Any new requests for assessments for North Cumbria GP registered patients will continue to be managed within the current process by request to the Mental Health commissioning panel, currently hosted by North Cumbria CCG.
