The best and the most thoughtful explanation of ADHD I have ever heard. Recommended.
Unfortunately, I don't know who the speaker is and which event it is. Hope somebody didn't see it yet.

I'm watching this now (just paused it to type this). A lot of it I've heard before, but then I've been around a bit in ADHD circles, but the bit I've just got to REALLY struck home.
The speaker gets to a point where he talks about executive function and the lack of it in people with ADHD and describes it as the "Just..." function. Any sentence beginning "Just..." and then telling you to do whatever it is you are supposed to be able to 'just' do is terrible for people with ADHD. I've thought that for years. Every time someone says "Why don't you JUST... [fill in whatever piece of so called good advice you like here]" my heart sinks.
He says that saying "Why don't you JUST [whatever]" to an ADHD person is like saying "Why don't you just look harder" to a blind person. Brilliant description. I'd love everyone in the world to see that bit.
I'll go and watch the rest now. Thanks for posting that.

I like his reference to Calvin and Hobbs, a friend of mine is/was the only person who ever spotted my ADHD and said 'You remind me of Calvin and Hobbs you know" - This is how I became aware of ADHD - I don't think it's ever been formally recognised that Calvin and Hobbs is about an ADHD boy but like Dr Mason says 'Where do they get their ideas from ?'
