Hi there, new to the site and very happy to find it! Does anyone have a shortlist of legal firms that have experience with and are sympathetic to AADD? I have some very serious legal problems created mostly through my chaotic life and serious procrastination and directly connected to my AADD. I can either see a firm in the North West or South - South East. I am not yet officially diagnosed, have had AADD all my life of course but never realized what 'it' may be until around 2006 and have been trying to obtain diagnoses since then. Part of the reason I have not been referred is because I kept missing appointments and not responding to letters until it was too late. To date the only firm I have found is one that treats mental health and they where really horrible. Need More of a specialist. Would really appreciate some help.

I would contact the law society and see if they can point you in the right direction.

Thanks I have done but only via email, it's easier for me to explain in writing sometimes. It seems that there are very few with expertise in Adult AD, I thought I might approach specialist centres to see if they could signpost but many thanks for the response, I think I'll try the law society again but by phone.

If you were diagnosed you'd have some protection from the DDA. I'm guessing anything that happened prior to a diagnosis wouldn't be considered under employment law. Once diagnosed your employer should be able to make "reasonable adjustments" for the condition.
Access to work may be able to give you some advice and support. They were fantastic with my old employer
