Hi,
I am not on meds yet and drink a lot of coffee....
Some say caffeine is a useful stimulant and some say avoid caffeine.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks

I drank massive amounts of cola until the 5th of February 2013 and it was just terrible. Once I quit there was no turning back.. it was such a relief to get rid of the caffeine and I haven't missed it a single day. Also found that sugar overall is alot less appealing, maybe the sugar difference between the two makes for a very different experience, but I got rid of atleast one "brain cloud".

I find natural caffine (from coffee or white tea) useful but jst in mornings and not everyday as standard jst smtimes. i dont find the stuff in.fizzy drinks useful (and i dont find the sugars/sweetners/acid gd either). Coffee is one of the best natural sources of magnesium and i think the combination works well for me.

I used to rely on coffee to get me through things, alongside nicotine as a stimulant and alcohol as a relaxant. Once I stopped smoking I had much more of a sense of how my body feels, rather than pushing it through things as tho it was a racing car and then trying to slam on the brakes.
Now I'm far more aware of the effect of caffeine, and limit myself to one or two cups a day, only in the morning. It's amazing how coffee makes the body and brain buzz.
(I also find that it usually sets off vocal and physical tics, so clearly it's doing something to the brain!)

Coffee is one of the best natural sources of magnesium and i think the combination works well for me. Does normal coffee eg Nescafé count, or does it need to be 'proper' coffee?

I love Gold Blend!
I'm not sure there's much caffeine in it though?

I consume about 3 cups of coffee a day. Real coffee poured from a cafeteria.
I convinced that the anxiety factor is more when you add sugar.
I also drink about 4 liters of water a day. I think that the amount of water I drink does flush my kidneys & helps get rid of the caffeine.
I'm also on anti anxiety/Antidepressant.
I don't think the coffee affects me cause of the clean eating & amount of water I drink.

For me, it's absolutely better to avoid it. I stopped drinking coffee and my energy is way more stable over the day. If I drink coffee now (occasionally), and it makes my heart rate go up. I get hyper, annoyed, rushed. No coffee for me... It took me 3 weeks to adjust to not drinking coffee. I drink wheat coffee or cacao drink, or just decaf by the way

Coffee is a good natural maoi and if it weren't for the caffeine affecting so many people, I would thoroughly recommend it. For me it's brilliant.

I can remember getting a jolt from a cup of coffee from an American work colleague when I was about 21. It must've been mega strength! Other than that I find it doesn't do much for me. I've put two spoonfuls in a cup and even poured it in from the jar and add a few spoonfuls of honey to jazz it up a bit but I don't get a buzz at all.
Honey - bee - buzz pun not quite intended there!

Give it up for a few months and then go and drink a double espresso and you'll find it does do something.
