Hi Janet,
Does your mind ever race at night while you’re in bed, keeping you from falling asleep?
Mainstream doctors like to blame America’s insomnia epidemic on "stress"...
And hand out script for Big Pharma's billion dollar sleep aids like Halloween candy.
Yet, health experts say "stress" is almost NEVER the reason why 75 million Americans are stuck staring at the ceiling night after night.
As surprising as it sounds, sleep problems like this (and many more) can be caused by...
...foods that are actually extraordinarily HEALTHY for you!
Yet — if you eat them right before bed — they react terribly with your body and keep you from getting a good night’s sleep!
Here are three of the worst ‘healthy’ foods you should NEVER eat right before bed... followed by 10 foods that will put you to sleep fast (and keep you out all night long).
(And when you read to the end of this email, you’ll discover my favorite “cocktail” of “put-you-right-to-bed” minerals... Researchers from the Mayo Clinic and Harvard Medical School say these minerals can help you sleep like a log... all night long.)
Spicy Foods
Foods with a spicy kick are a huge boon to your health. That’s because they contain powerful anti-inflammatory ingredients, which fight free radicals that age cells quicker and lead to disease.
For example, antioxidants in onions help prevent the oxidation of fatty acids, reducing the number of pro-inflammatory messaging molecules produced by the body.
However, don’t have hot sauce for a nightcap.
It can cause indigestion. And also raise your body temperature, which makes it harder to fall asleep in the first place.
Steak
Red meat is chock full of nerve and red blood cell producing vitamin B12 and immune system supporting zinc. Plus protein, which helps build bones and muscles.
But red meat takes a long time to digest. This means that when you should be sleeping, your body will be hard at work digesting all that fat and protein which may lead to gas or bloating.
Not exactly a recipe for restful slumber...
Citrus Fruits
Grapefruit, oranges, lemons and limes are vitamin C powerhouses and you ought to be gorging on them as much as you can. Just not before you sleep.
Because the acid in them triggers indigestion and heartburn — especially if you eat them and then go and lie down.
So, what SHOULD you eat for a good night’s sleep?
First, anything with MAGNESIUM in it.
Why magnesium?
For starters, without sufficient levels of magnesium your body cannot create the fundamental sleep hormone melatonin. Without this, sleep quality plummets as you struggle to fall and stay asleep.
Secondly, magnesium helps your body and mind “wind down” by triggering a series of events that prepare your body for sleep.
It shuts your body off by calming overactive nerves. This in turn relaxes tense muscles... giving your body that “heavy” feeling when your head hits the pillow.
It also lowers brain temperature. Which reduces neuronal activity in your brain, stopping those thoughts that race through your brain and keep you from falling asleep.
Good food sources of magnesium are bananas, almonds, spinach and quinoa. And you can even absorb magnesium through your skin by taking an epsom salt bath before bed (this relaxes your muscles so well it feels like a massage!)
Next, any food that contain or sparks melatonin production.
I just mentioned melatonin is the fundamental sleep hormone. And that without it, your quality of sleep goes out the window.
Which is why you’ll want to eat things like:
Miso, made from fermented soy, which contains amino acids that help boost your body’s production of melatonin (bonus, the warm liquid of miso soup is soothing to consume when you’re trying to relax)
Cherries which are a natural source of melatonin (in fact, drinking tart cherry juice has been shown to improve sleep quality, increase total sleep time by about 25 minutes and boost “sleep efficiency,” a measure of sleep quality, by up to 6%)
Salmon. Which helps your body produce melatonin because it contains vitamin B6 (other foods high in vitamin B6 are rice bran, pistachios, garlic, sunflower seeds and avocadoes).
And finally, foods high in tryptophan.
Have you ever felt sleepy after thanksgiving dinner?
Well, you can thank the tryptophan in turkey for that. The amino acid tryptophan converts into serotonin — which boosts your mood and promotes restful sleep.
You’ll find tryptophan in milk, bananas and oatmeal as well (here’s a bonus tip, the complex carbs in oatmeal help tryptophan enter your brain... promoting even more sleep!)
So the list of 10 foods that HELP you sleep are:
Bananas
Almonds
Spinach
Quinoa
Miso Soup
Cherries
Salmon
Turkey
Milk
Oatmeal
But what if you don’t want to re-arrange your entire diet… but you DO want a better night's sleep?
I have good news for you.
I created a formula that contains magnesium, melatonin, tryptophan and 7 more powerful and proven all-natural sleep aids.
It’s called Sleepzyme®. Taking it an hour before you go to bed will help you sleep soundly every single night.

I was emailed a link losebackpain dot com from a friend.
Seamed simple for foods not to eat before bed. Like Spicy foods and Acidy foods but then as i read though the article it became more interesting.
I know theres tons of articles you can read. I like the way this was laid out. The text flow is easy to read (in my opinion) and tend not to get too bored/distracted.
Lets us no whether you think its load a crap or actually quite useful. 😀

Hi turnrightnow Friendships and relationships are always difficult to negotiate. . particularly as a lot of us ADHD ers have a bit of autism too . . I find I'm either over-intimate or completely stand-offish . . with both men and women and regardless of how sexually attractive I might find them (usually oblivious to their thoughts though) and I don't know many people who couldn't do with a hug from someone they're comfortable with from time to time. . it's absolutely ok to talk about it. Glad you didn't get knocked back Thanks for your reply and encouragement.. isnt life fun. If life was dead easy, it would be boring. Sorry i take long to reply to messages on here.

You know I'm confused and coming round to the idea that my catholic upbringing somewhat blinkered my own conscious thoughts early on. I had a remarkably open, frank and enlightening chat with my soon to be 13 year old daughter a couple of months back. She took me totally by surprise with how both open minded, self aware and confidently sure of herself she was/is. I'm not remotely affectionate with my parents.. it weirds me out. If i think to much about it I'm the same in the physical sense with my kids, as they grow up I find it awkward to kiss them goodbye etc... which is kind of a daft thing... they're my little girls for goodness sake! Anyway this convo with the eldest... she said something like "I'm bisexual" which set dad alarms off, in the "crap i haven't waffled on stupidly about something i didnt really mean did I?" sense. Lol Anyway she admitted shed not mentioned it because she thought I'd be upset. Not that she wasn't straight, but because she's "labelled" herself aged 12. So on realising dad was like "ah ok fair enough" ... she went on to elaborate... turns out she doesn't know/care if she likes boys or girls more than the other because she fully intends to be closer to the people she likes and who like her and if "love" arrives then that will be the person... so she's turned my mind inside out by simply making the totally logical choice of removing the society expected default of "straight" until otherwise and replaced it with... "undecided but open to ideas"... Maybe after all it was ok to upset mother by refusing to get the kids christened "just because" Funny old world we live in... im learning to have more empathy a i go on ...it turns out that this situation i was explaining in my earlier post is kinda happening now. Uncertainty with feelings for friends. I have made one advance on understanding, maybe as simple as the need for a hug..Fine with friends that i dont have sexual Feelings for. Just got to be careful with other friends. I know there are other types of "relationships", "couples" ect with various nuances. So because of my awkward feelings i was up front with one mate and he said hes fine with hugs but not interested in taking things further. As itbhappened he was yearning for a comforting hug. I respect his feelings. Also find it ŕeally loosened any tension that was there just to be frank about how i felt was a breakthru. Although maybe it could have turned different. If hed been agitated or angry. Think sexuality is a huge subject. Is this the right place for my question does it fit with anything here on the forum...thanks for ya replies

Oooops i keep replying to old threads. Its annoying we get these reactions which sometimes fuel the fire for retaliation. Or the stress comes out another way. Impolite to a customer or something. Can think of similar things when i been working in a wood yard chain sawing and not done exactly the pile of wood in the right order or gone on todo it in a different way. Usually ending up with a job well done, but the boss questions whether its productive. Im sure we have complex ways of managing that other people dont see. Really we should be seen as an investment to a company

Hi there group,
Happy new year . What is people ideas on this. I understand friendships and genrally enjoying each others company. I have a selection of male friends. Generally old school friends and people from out and about.
My struggle is that sometimes i yearn for more intimacy. I want to snuggle up hug. Well basically i can fall in love not sex but possibly could lead to.
This might not be such a step if i was attracted to opposite sex. (There can be confussion here too)
ALl of us really want to be loved and sometimes a friendship possibly can't give us all we need.
So im confussing a friendship with a relationship.
It could be that this is just life science and nothing at all todo with ADHD/Autism Be cool to understand this some more.

If us think your flowing creative juices Copy and paste what you've already got before you get so far and loose the lot. I have done the same thing. Copy and paste is good, you can capture and get down in words what you want. Then as MIGHTY said you can condense it afterward in a program like notepad then submit to the web under less stress.
