Hi johnconnor NHS waiting times are notoriously long. I’m not surprised you haven’t heard anything yet. I don’t know how long the wait is in east Lancashire and many services don’t contact you until they’re able to offer an appointment. You could check with your GP and find out where you’ve been referred to, then contact them to find out how long the current wait is. Some services have a cancellation list you can ask to be put on. I doubt if you’ll hear anything for at least 3 months. . .some places the waiting list is years. However, I do know that east Lancashire has a service, which is better than some areas which have nothing.

Hi johnconnorr, I was referred by my GP last year, around May time. I did receive a letter about the referral from the ADHD Service (I’m under Leeds), but it took a year for me to get my assessment. I left it six months which was the approx min waiting time stated on the letter before calling them, and I called them in November. At that time they were able to tell me that there were still 170 ahead of me on the waiting list. I just kept calling and around April time they told me they were seeing referrals from May time of the previous year and I would see someone shortly. The Leeds Adult ADHD unit is very small and they have a lot of referrals. Unfortunately, all you can do is wait. Good luck, and I hope you hear something soon
