My partner has been on atomoxetine for the past few months for ADHD. He is saying that his mood is flat, and that he feels a 5/10 but has been told this is normal and he should be aiming to no longer have the highs and lows of ADHD and to settle at a 5. He is also saying that he's not sure how he feels about me anymore. That he can't be bothered with the relationship and trying to fix any issues we had, etc. He has moved out and says he has no interest in coming back. He says he wants to isolate and be alone.
Could he be feeling this way due to the meds do you think, or should I be accepting what he's saying and that my marriage is most probably over.

Hello. This is my first post. I have only recently been formally diagnosed with ADHD. My clinician prescribed me Strattera initially which gave me some chronic low moods and helpless feelings. I would say your husband is on the wrong meds, but of course; he must pursue this with his doctor. Do not take no for an answer if the low moods are having an impact upon his recovery and support.
It is my humble option that ADHD manifests itself quite differently for the individual. One treatment may work for some and not others.
Strattera is not for my brain. It brought me down. I didn’t feel as if that was a side effect worth living with so I told my doctor and I am meeting him to discuss alternative meds. Good luck.

Hi mate
Just posted a reply to your other post,
Strattera was the worst drug I ever tried and I have tried loads. The longer I took it the worse it got and I gave it a few months. Some people like it. I was put on it because I wasnt getting on with stims but made me feel worse than stims
Lots of other stuff out there. Remember the people who prescribe these things probably dont have ADHD and will not have tried them.
I am all for giving the drugs a fair go, and I think that its easy to give up too soon. The side effects tend to get better but its a question of how much
We all know someone who gets drunk on one glass of wine and someone who can drink all night and not even seem drunk. I think its a bit like that. Its not just the drug, its the dose.

Hi I’m new I’m currently moving up to 80mg atomoxitine as well as 70mg elvanse and I’m low low overwhelmed and a emotional wreck I came off sertraline a few months ago and I don’t know if I’m missing that or if it’s the atomoxitine. I usually cry easily at sad or Happy things but this is off the charts

Strattera is the absolute worst drug I have ever taken, legal or otherwise, I felt borderline suicidal after less than 2 weeks of taking my first prescription. I cannot believe a drug with such overwhelming (albeit anecdotal) evidence of mood problems is still so readily prescribed and there is very little decent data on the efficacy of an SSRI like Atomoxotine for ADHD.

I have been considering trying Atomoxetine. Has anyone ever had good results from it?
