I remember in secondary school, around 15/16, suddenly noticing my working memory and focus getting significantly worse. Like a marked difference in ability to do mental arithmetic and follow the thread of a teacher explaining to the class. Anyone else notice the same?
I'm wondering because it's also around the same time I started drinking and smoking cannabis semi-regularly + anxiety and depression getting worse, so could have been a combination/caused by all that stuff.
Unsure how much ADHD was/is a factor and if my experience is common. Never really reversed the deficits despite quitting drink and drugs (although still plenty anxious and depressed). I'm 28 now.
Cheers

Hey, thanks for the reply. How long has that been happening for you? Anything else that could be contributing to it like in my scenario? (Just going off your username )

Not sure if this helps. I am currently undiagnosed but have had struggles all my life. When j found out more about ADHD at 36 years old (researching regarding challenges my 7 ur old was having) I realised why I found things so hard. For me things became even harder to manage when I had kids. I think their challenges (son is likely ADHD and possibly ASD with PDA), the lack of sleep and opportunities for self care meant that I have found it very difficult.
