Hi all, I suspect I may have spent my whole life with ADD. I have seen mention of a checklist, can anyone point me in the direction? My question is mainly around seeing the GP now. I'm in Scotland and already anxious about seeing the Gp for fear I won't be taken serious, but I'm also worried about getting into trouble for requesting an appointment for this during the pandemic. To me, it feels urgent however deep down I know I should try and wait until things settle down? What advice does anyone have about this?

Morning Poppet, I was in exactly the same position as you back in December, and I'm also in Scotland, the advice I was given from a few members on here was to look up NHS choices page regarding ADHD, run through the symptoms list and write down how they apply to you, it makes it slightly easier to explain to the GP. Also, you could look for 'Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS-v1.1) Symptom Checklist' this is very similar to the first form I received from the GP.
In terms of speaking to your GP, they will not give you trouble for calling regarding ADHD, they still have to provide service for other conditions other than Covid, and actually, my GP mentioned more adults were coming forward asking about ADHD. I was nervous about bringing it up too, but the GP I spoke to was quite accommodating and far from dismissive. If you have concerns, it's always worth asking 👍.
For me, today is day one of a trial period of medication!
