Hi all,
I am recruiting for my study; The effects of learning difficulties (LD) and developmental disorders (DD) on memory reliability
What is the purpose of the research?
This study investigates the effects of gender, developmental disorders and learning difficulties on memory when it comes to witnessing and being questioned about an event.
Who is carrying out the research?
The data are being collected by Amy Elliott, as part of their MSc studies, at Department of Psychology, Swansea University, under the supervision of Dr Kim Drake Department of Psychology, Swansea University.
What happens if I agree to take part?
There will be a simple memory task with feedback to be completed via Zoom/ teams in two sessions (one week between the sessions), and to conduct a task to measure developmental disorders & learning difficulties with the researcher, Amy Elliott. They will not take more than 45 minutes and the second session will be shorter.
The age range of the participants used will be 18 - 60 (based on previous research). Males and Females will be used. The inclusion criteria are adults aged 18 - 60 with learning difficulties and/or developmental disorders (a range of severities accepted). This can include ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Aphasia, Dysphasia, among others. The exclusion criteria are children and those who do not have learning difficulties and developmental disorders
Main outcome Measure
The correlation between memory in witness event and those who have learning difficulties and/ or Developmental disorders.
Start date: 18/07/2021
End Date : 30/09/2021
If you are interested in taking part or have more question, please email me Amy Elliott; 2003223@swansea.ac.uk
Ethics has been approved and confirmation is attached Letter.pdf (81.07 KB)
