I am an admin of the Nottinghamshire adult ADHD group on Facebook. Myself and others are having an issue with 60mg elvanse capsules not working at all.
Basically you could take as many as you want and there's not active lisdexamfetamine inside the capsules just some random powder.
Please note I don't recommend taking more than one aday unless prescribed, I took 4 of them and still no effect one day.
Side history I've been taking 60mg elvanse for over 6 years with no issue at all, I have instant dexamfetamine topups for when it wear off and for bedtime.
I have emailed Takeda and they have opened an investigation.
I have been in contact with ADHD service in Nottinghamshire they also contacted them about this issue.
Others on my group have contacted them about this issue.
And as I got told by ADHD services they wouldn't of opened an Investigation if it was only people with ADHD complaining. Nhs and private healthcare workers have also complained
Aside from the fact the capsules don't work they also appear not to be solid were you can press the capsules to over half it's size.
This is a major event and I recommend anyone else having the same issues with there 60mg or even other mg amounts that feel that there not working to first and foremost contact your gp, pharmacy and ADHD services with the lot number and expire date on side of the bottle and ask for a different lot number and replacement of the bottle for a new one.
I also would require you contact Takeda UK via email, they don't answer the phone I've tried multiple times a day different days, says going to transfer you and then gives a message that no one on line then call disconnects.
The more people that have experienced this that messages your nhs and private services the better.
Takeda will email you back asking for you country of origin. Then once you have replied they will send you a pdf with what you have wrote to them telling you there is an open investigation and they will then hopefully update all of us with this issue via email In the future.
I'm going to post this to other ADHD forums when I get the time
The email address for Takeda UK aka shire I will post below this message.
All the best to you hope they sort this out asap.
Kind regards
Richy
