I was referred to OH at work they referred to a clinical doctor who assessed me and stated said clinic health partner are saying they believe I have ADHD and ADD I sent the report to GP spoke to a nurse who suggested I don’t have this because I hold down a job. It’s been brush aside.I struggle in said job. I feel I have been failed. I feel a failure. Who can give me advice. Where to go with this to get a diagnoses
Im am so confused I think I have had this all my life and been pushed aside eg failings on clinic health.
Thanks for any advice tips

Get a second opinion, who do you trust more, an ADHD specialist or some ignorant nurse. I have worked about 5 years including as an electronics technician but I still have been diagnosed with ADHD and now on meds. I have lost count of how many times I got knocked back by ignorant people that don't understand the condition before I got diagnosed.
Stick with it and don't give up. Good luck.

This happened with me, keep pushing and do not give up. I know the services are pushed beyond belief but you know your own mind and body. The ability to hold down a job is absolutely nothing to do with ADHD, I am 44 now. I was in the navy for 12 years and have been self employed since 2011. Not going to lie, there have been stressful times but I am pretty sure that is life with absolutely everyone whether they have ADHD or not. Admittedly before the RN I did jump from job to job but it was always my personal choice because with the adhd I got bored, I was never sacked or anything like that. I was actually exceptional at all the jobs I did. That's not a boast just the fact that I believe the ADHD mind can focus better than anyone else if they are invested and interested. However I have only been 'officially' diagnosed 6 months ago after being on the waiting list for the previous 2 years. As my psychiatrist quite rightly pointed out, you are born with it, you do not develop it. It sometimes does not come to light as much though until later in life. If necessary, take it up a level if you can say 100% you believe the GP are wrong and tell them why. Trust me, write everything down that has affected you and refer to it when you can speak to someone qualified. If you really get nowhere you can always place an official complaint, but leave that until you have tried everything else.
As Rossall said, don't give up.

Thanks Rossall, I guess it was because I just joined the forum and might of been spam protection.
