I'm disappointed with "Time to Change" because they want everything to have their brand name on it, and we would have to stick to their message, and also it looks like they want money before they will help us because in several places on their website it says to send our ideas to them and they will work up a proposal. In fact, I'm really becoming disenchanted with many of the charities. I've had a very poor response rate to my requests for help promoting the petition. It was really disheartening when I was researching them via the Charities Commission (looking for contact details) and saw how much money the charities soak up between them. It's hell of a lot! I asked Sane if I could post a notice on their discussion forum about the petition and I got a reply today as follows: They didn't even sign the petition btw their income for 2008 was £1,117,320 and that's just one charity. Still never mind, when we win, we'll be able to say "we did it ourselves!!"

Well now I see why they sent you a comprehensive reply (it's a brilliant letter), and a very big thank you for the plugs!
I will put your letter into the special ADHD Awareness Week category that I've added to this forum as soon as I've figured out the best way to organise the various boards. I'm going to be working on that today.

Roland
Suppose there’s nothing stopping me and maybe others going on these forums and promoting in a more long winded way. Cant believe how these places harp on about how society is so small minded towards mental heath, when they are being just as small minded and bureaucratic themselves. If there’s one thing are ADHD gives us its thinking outside the box and will make progress whether they agree or not.
PS as am lazy can someone tell me who I send this letter to PCT how do I find out who that is if live in Sefton Liverpool. ;D

oooh its a good job ive read this id already started to think about how to fix my printer so i can print the letter off and where i can get a stamp like now! ;D
but i will wait until awareness week and maybe send a few from freinds and families addresses. just to make a point ;D
on the point of making a point
my back withdrew my overdraft on wednesday with no warning, it could be due to the fact that they gave it me in june (a £1000 student overdraft and i dont even start uni till october) id spent it all by the begining of july and am now living in it.
i havent gone over tho and they should have gave me notice. so i went on wednesday to try and sort it out, but it was bassically 'the computer says no' so they had to appeal against the coputer decision and it could take upto a week to get my overdraft back!
so i went in there again today and after 2 hours, speaking to 2 bank people the manger they opened me a new account and gave me a £50 goodwill gesture. theyve also put urgent for the decision and assured me i wont have to pay any charges or intrest. yay! ;D

Ive always got loads of good meat in the freezer and I never ever remember to get something out until its actually time to eat. And I love hyperfocus too. I know I will have a job in no time due to it. Whether I get one out there already or create one myself then I know I will manage

The batter keeps them together, and all you really do it cook the batter. You've not lived till you've seen a whole pizza put into the deep fat fryer I'm surprised that 'cheesy chips' haven't caught on outside Scotchland, they're really nice. What was that about the most obese country in Europe? How did that happen?

battered mars bars are great... every now and again, because they are sickly. i tried to make my own but it just wasnt the same.
deep fried pizza tho eurgh.. dont fancy that one
but deep fried milkyway, twix and snickers are all worth a try but not as good as the mars bar. the chippy used to charge 20p and theyd batter any bar you wanted if you supplied your own ;D

so laura whats a deep fried mars like is it just like all melted inside batter
|
|
|
Post by laura on Sept 5, 2009 23:08:59 GMT
yeah the chocs melted, the caramel runny and the white stuff is warm and soft. they dont have to go in for long so they dont melt all the way through. its gooey and sweet, with crispy batter on the outside.
i want one now ;D

The thing about deep fried mars bars is that batter goes with savoury or sweet. Granted, the fact it is cooked in oil doesnt really help the image, but it is really just a chocolate dessert wrapped in a batter. Safe, ever tried a banana fritter from a chinese restuarant? Same thing really And everything in a chipshop here gets deep fried its godamn disgusting. Pies, steak pies, sausages, haggis, blackpudding, anything and everything I kid u not.
