I had a job for over five years - management left us completely alone so there was nobody to fight with and the gang had great cohesion and team spirit.
Our management changed and split the gang up so we were working as individuals at opposite ends of the site, alone in big draughty sheds.
3 months later the new manager and I nearly came to blows over a minor matter...and I didn't even start it! But once started......................
I went off sick and never returned.

good poll but i didnt read it properly before i clicked ;D
i clicked 1-2 years but ive only actually lasted 11months and that was my first ever job.
its so annoying like when i had to provide evidence of my income for the last 3 years for my student finance application, in the last 3 years ive had 1 year off because of my crazy (or not, as i now know) problems, 3 months job hunting when i got made redundant and in the other 19months i had 4 jobs.

Safensound, I was just a robot, living a nonlife until I decided to start the procrastination stone rolling last year. I think the stone is stuck in neutral..

andy no point dwelling on past if its bad want it to drive you to make you think yer and now i am determined to make up for it as i dont want to spend another 13 or 20 or 30 years like that and regreting all your life end of day if you sort things out you can look back and be happy and realy apreciate were you have come from and the fact that you have done all on your own.

amen to that
i lasted 11 years in my longest job, but it was 11 years with the same company but doing various different actual jobs within that company, i can definitely see the boredom pattern and the need for new challanges looking back at my time there.

I have always been satisfied( to just do the minimum required to get through the day, unless it was really necessary to make an effort. I don't have any ambitions currently. Not worried about having this and having that. Just having control of myself would be more satisfying, I think.
I am not materialistic. I am a bit of a collector if things take my fancy, but that's long faded away. Never bought or really wanted to have a music track in my life, even before file sharing etc. Got loads of old computer game tracks lol and various types but never really get around to the 5 click process....to get them running.
I suppose I would say I am melancholy and lean to morosity, but I have my moments. That's why I fit with atypical depression or is it adhd or x or x2 or x3? I think an important question to ask oneself is whether or not one mllion pounds would make you happy. For me, it would enable many things and reduce my sources of worry, namely money, debt managment etc but it still would not make me happy internally, so does it matter? Correcting the internal balance is more important.
Anyway, as I told my doc and others' I don't really seem to care to push myself and never have done. I also worry that, upon diagnosis and subsequent medication of adhd or unknown cause=X, that I would suddenly enter a new world, called nearer normality than before. Then I would feel more of an urge to do the things that the majority of people have been doing since a young age.......scaaaaaary.
Still, there are advantages. At 34, I may just have a thirst for living that others are started to lose. Sounds like a load of idealist crap to me, but I won't know unless I "get there" Whilst I still have things to rule out as causes of my problems, I have a chance. If I still feel the same way after the majority of possibilities are ruled out, then I will not feel too good. I am hoping that things will change in the near future.

How true is that lol.
Continuing on my e-soapbox, I once made a comment about business, that I would rather have many work partners with a smaller share profit but secure in the knowledge that if anyone or even 2 were ill or such, there would certainly be enough partners left to continue.
I am always in 2 minds about things and it always holds me back.
Easy to put words onto a page, but I doubt that I could ever survive by my ideals "out there" in that chaotic, dog eats dog, selfish, corrupt, hypocritical, don't so as I do do as I say, be a good taxpayer/slave so we can declare war/state of fear and justify our bureaucratic existence by creating issues or scares bird flu/pig flu/special remastered edition widescreen flu, errrrrrrrrrr mass of dirt and water/poisons/atmosphere known as planet Earth. I am doing it again...........
I hear my bed calling me "andy..andy put a sock in it, you procrastinating noob, remember that thing called sleeeeeeep?"
Anyway.....

can't think of reply just yet-but very true this- you express some of the thoughts i have daily- we live in a cut thrust world- ruthless, poisoned, I think adhd sets us apart from this insensitive world- why most of us often feel ike we should be on other planets or born in another era.
well, it was a short reply but one anway!!ps my spelling is bad when i type, i type faster than i spell lol

Makes you wonder if democracy is the best way of running but it isnt realy runing it, its capitalism which is just the devil in disguise praying to are insecuritys and are lust and desire of the common man.
that quote about a million is a hard one as a million isn't enough for your lifetime so you would have to use it carefully to achieve success so its not clear if it would solve all your probs . Ten million now that would make me happy you would have a bit of money to play with and the rest kept safe. But as that aint going to happen why am i going on.
O ye the joy of the journey i supose just got to get on with it dont let them drag you down. I am passed caring to be quiet ohnest I've had a taste of money and your still driving down the same road. And its got fuck all to do with intelegence some rich people are thick as pig "£$% they were just in the right place at the right time. Which they ofen need reminding of as it can go to their head and make them the kind of people you dont want to be anywhere near unless your into kissing A£$e and i dont think thats an ADHD trait from my experience.

Epic statement, sns.
1 million, 10 million, 100 million.. you can do what you want, but if you can never get the ability to do a jigsaw puzzle, meditate, read, reflect, not procrastinate, cook when you want to, then it will still be there, but obviously, you can ignore it....and have a good time, or can you?
I suppose yes, is the answer.
Let's face it, when an adder is having fun and nothing gets in their way, life is good innit? Yes, kissing £$£$ is not an add trait.
