Hi Haydreamer,
I'll be following up on the Wiltshire response on Wednesday, and I'll keep you updated.
Thanks everyone for your support. It wasn't so much my lack of input for the other group that was the problem, because I provided plenty of it, but it was the blunt way I said things that bothered some of them, and I was actually tring to be diplomatic LOL! Their delicate little selves couldn't handle my adhd self, so nuts to them. And I feel wonderfully liberated now! I hadn't realised how stressful that group had become until I sent in my resignaton letter.

Hi Haydreamer, We discussed Wiltshire's letter in a meeting and none of us here understand what Wiltshire means when they say they refer those who have ADHD with no comorbidity, so we are writing to them and asking for clarification. After all if they know someone has ADHD why are they referring them to the specialist clinic for an assessment? Hang in there Haydreamer, don't give up! In fact I suggest that you ask for the referral again. Use Craig's template ( aadduk.proboards85.com/index.cgi?board=recognition&action=display&thread=469) and write them a letter. Here's the address to send it to: Mr Jeff James Chief Executive Wiltshire Primary Care Trust Southgate House Pans Lane Devizes, Wiltshire SN10 5EQ Also, send a copy to Dr Paul Jakeman, Medical Director, at the same address. With your letter and ours they should start getting the message. BTW: keep copies of your letters so that you can give them to your MP if it should become necessary.

Hi Roland, it's so easy to want to give up!, I am hanging on to a thread,! It's this forum that gives me the motivation!! It's hard to keep on fighting sometimes I have sent the letters as you suggested today to the Wilshire PCT, Jeff James, Dr Jakeman- it's better to do something, and put pressure on them all together As you know I am waiting for my standard assessment with the pyschiatrist, It's been 3 weeks now, heard nothing. Apparently the receptionist who I spoke to for the 3rd time, has said the pyschiatrist has a huge waiting list and I insisted she gave me an estimated time, she said she couldn't I asked her to give me his secterary's tel no: but she's off sick!!! but good news she'll pass on a message that i'm concerned. so, I give up waiting for the postman now, just have to be satisfied with the junk mail:) looks like its after xmas. The last result, as I previously mentioned is to go private, of course this is not good, but the waiting is worse than anything, after my assessment, I will see the outcome, but my life is on hold , it's either get this dx or my life will be crap forever Roland, do you know anyone good in my area? with adhd specialism? I am not giving up, but i am sure you understand that its like being in a daily hell , waiting , life is ticking by and I am wasting time feeling depressed and I need to move on-as i'm stuck! I am keeping all my letter copies for my MP.

Yeah well done haydreamer Like yourself I'm sat here tapping my fingers, but the thought of being on the conveyor belt moving towards our destination is better than not having jumped on it at all. After reading Pauls post the other night, and reading he's waited 19 months! and is still on the belt. I got too depressed at the thought, and buggered off to bed without replying. But stubborness and persistence can be good ADHD traits, so we're just going to hang in there, aren't we ;D ;D
