Access To Work
ADHD Event
10th April
6pm - 8pm
Brighton (Seven Dials)
The Fed Centre for Independent Living are working with Brighton ADHD Support Group to host a special event for adults with ADHD about the Access To Work scheme.
Are you facing any barriers to work by virtue of having ADHD?
Do you know about Access To Work?
This is a scheme operated by the government, providing funding to help people remove barriers at work, whether self employed or working for someone else. Access to Work can help when you are starting a new job, or to help you do better in your existing one.
One of the many ways this can help is by providing funding for a support worker and coping strategy training to work with you on identifying the causes of your barriers and helping you to achieve your full potential.
For example it is possible to request funding for coping strategy training such as ADHD Coaching, CBT or Mindfulness. Also it may be possible to get funding for a support worker who can assist you with things like organisation, time management, budgeting, resource structuring; support tailored towards your needs.
We can help you find out what support could be available to you through Access To Work and help you with the application process.
Come along to our open evening:
10th April
6pm – 8pm
Space for Change, 14 Windlesham Avenue, Brighton, BN21 3AH (www.thefedonline.org.uk/space-for-change-contact)
You will hear from the Into Work project at the Fed, who will explain to you all about how Access to Work can help you, how the application process works and how we can support you to apply to the scheme. You will also hear first hand from someone with ADHD using this support about what a difference it has made. From 7pm there will be an Access to Work surgery running. This will give you the opportunity to speak with an advisor about the support you are interested in, and the chance to book an appointment to discuss this in more depth where relevant.
Food will be provided, so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, but please let us know if you have any access requirements.
Places are free for this event, but they are limited and will be allocated on a “first come, first served” basis.
As places are limited please confirm your attendance with Mandy either via email,mandy.crandale@thefedonline.org.uk or Telephone: 07809 670519.
