Can I ask if anyone has managed to get authorised holiday?
My 10 year old daughter went away for a week on the school trip last year, but it was all on-site and very activity based....this year it isn't and I knew she would be too much to cope with, especially as she's had to come off medication due to side effects...,I also know that there is no way that she will go into the class below while the rest of her class are away....a holiday away in June is already booked with my parents for these reasons....any advice?
I'm certain that last year a boy with autism did not have to go into school in similar circumstances, but I feel that the mum was prominent on the parent association and our school, at least, seem to have greater understanding of and make greater allowance for autism....she has also been diagnosed with depression in the past and anxiety over going to school meant that she was down to 73% attendance.....any advice gratefully received....
many thanks x

It may be that you can push for it to be recorded as alternate education or home education for that period rather than holiday. Can you ask the parent of the autism child what happen?
