;D Wandered around town in my nice smart clothes after my interview this afternoon, feeling like a proper grown-up yummy mummy instead of a scruffy shambolic wreck. (Well, 'yummy' might be stretching a point).....but even so, I might have to do it more often - it felt good!

I thought the reference to not being a budgie was aimed at the Lascaux Scribbler not me -which is why I hurriedly edited my reply about the mirror on the ceiling!

I thought the reference to not being a budgie was aimed at the Lascaux Scribbler not me -which is why I hurriedly edited my reply about the mirror on the ceiling! Mwoooahhhhaaaahaaa - you shall never know! ;D 1. Knowing I made someone laugh with me and not at me! ;D 2. Not feeling too numptyish at the moment 3. Making connections with other parents at the school: Tonight I went along to an open evening as I'd volunteered to do a stint on the SEN table. Usually I avoid school related activities like the plague due to a few unpleasant parent incidents, but tonight I met some lovely parents. One of them is currently undergoing assessment for ADHD (another story, but interesting as it may have given me a new direction for my own battle!), another one told me she thinks she's an aspie, and another one gave me a big bunch of hope for my own son when he moves up to secondary school, as her son sounds v. similar to mine, and has had a good experience with the local comp! 4. Feeling positive! (I know it can't last, but I'm bloody well going to wallow in it while it does!) Odat - good luck with the med change. A few weeks ago I felt as down as down could be. I think it all just balances on the head of a pin sometimes. Events might occur that pick you up soon, or others may come and knock me straight off my positive perch any day now! (Like a period for starters! ) Hope you feel better soon. Oh and btw, How thoughtful are you! That must have made the receptionists day - I'd never have thought to do something that nice. Perhaps if more of us did it, so many GP receptionists wouldn't have faces like a slapped arse!

Yeah, I know I was being a little facetious, but it is the little things like that that can alter the whole way you feel isn't it! Mouse said as much when someone left her a flower for her excellent customer service skills. If someone did that for me I'd probably cry. I think I shall try and make a point of doing nice things like this!

On the brighter side:
1, Bathroom more than halfway there.. skim plastering Tuesday (and lights, hopefully). 2. I've got 2 weeks' time off work booked -but I don't have to take it - so can take odd days and save the rest for later! 3. Builder thinks he may possibly be able to cut door into garage on Tuesday too (instead of early December)! 4. Friend at work has invited me to 'zumba' class - says it will be chaotic but a good laugh!
On previous comments: I have a turbo set up complete with bike] I didn't know it was called a 'turbo' I think that as long as our own default mode isn't 'miserable old trout' life is mostly manageable. I love licorice too.

This is a difficult one for me at moment (as after long and horrible first week back at work after 5 weeks off with misscarriage nursing dad etc) I caught train back up to parents to give sister break for 2 nigths so lookin after dad then back at work Monday. Here goes : 1. Seeing my dad's smile at me and saying my name. 2. The look of proudness on my dad's face when I presented him with the jumper I knitted for him. 3. Making my mom smile. 4.Buying Jullian Smith saxaphone cd his music is beautiful. 5. Speaking to my other half on phone and hearing my cays (aka my babies) in background. 6. My sister tellin me about her anti last night when she got very drunk

They're all wonderful things if they've made you smile and that is what the brighter side is all about really - glad you got to finish your dad's jumper and present it to him.

Looking for my hairdryer I found a pair of shoes I'd forgotten about but which I love (still marvel at how it is possible to forget about something that gives you so much pleasure) so wore them tonight and felt good!
Also found one of my favourite earrings, which was mislaid.
Managed some relatively normal conversation tonight with the neighbours.
Also ate one of the least curry-like curries I have ever eaten .. but then remembered that I have a date with a 'proper' curry next week. So that cheered me up!

What brigther side, there isnt one, my dad slowly slipping away from me, while I sit in lounge watching him sleep. I want to scream , cry run off im ust numb. Start new job after xmas, I wont ever feel the same about life this year after watching and caring for my dad with cancer, watching my mom suffer, misscarriage of a baby I longed for things going wrong yet again with job Its tougthened me up all this I used to be very positive and optimistic but this year changed that, now I expected nothing from life so when it kicks me down I realise its part of the course.

The Christmas Tree is up and has lights on it - no other decs yet - just lights and I rather like it just as it is. I don't want to put anything else on it. But I'll have to otherwise it will just look like something else that didn't get finished! Hoist by my own adhd petard..
This tree took just 7 minutes to choose last week. Arrived at the garden centre at 5.49 pm on Monday night. Decided to buy the first tree I liked without aiming for the most perfectly shaped and 45 minutes of faffing procrastination. (I was happy to put up artificial tree but as mum and dad coming to stay and mum loves a real tree I changd my mind).
Assistant twirled four trees. I chose ny favourite. Tree was netted and carried to the till where I checked my watch and we had a whole 4 minutes spare!! If we ever have a real tree again I hope I remember this

I have made a start on my list of things to achieve or do this year.
1. Did some more investigation on social groups and went out last Friday and met up with some new people (tho was extremely quiet it being the Friday before New Year) . Meeting up again with them this Friday.
2. Bought myself a grown up phone. Should cut down on the screams of frustration as I try to tap out a text!

Well.. grown up phone does not really help so greatly as the tendency now is to try and say more in a text.... Oh well. Social life is improving - meeting up with friends this weekend.

Well this is a bit cheeky but at least ADHD has prepared me for the worst in life. I have a good friend who just lost her job and really totally fell apart, lost her flat and bf and had to go back to her parents. She keeps phoning me for advice and is shocked how able I am to deal with her problems and get her back on track, job hunting, getting a social life etc. The reason I gave her is that while what to her is a life changing experience that came out of the blue, to me I would call tuesday! Lol
