Hi, i use in normal ear buds, and they almost totally block out external noises. There are quite a few around, but the 2 brands i have had are etymotic and audeo. The important thing with these are ate get the correct size foam tips.

Bose has a good customer service. I use them every day at work, i'can focus much better with them and no longer annoyed or distracted by noises. I'll buy a new pair without hesitation when they die on me....must have for someone with adhd...
