Summary in second post
Holy bleeping f$"£^%$&$£ I just lost hours of carefully written information.
I didn't even have many tabs open, I'd completely shut down and rebooted before I started.
All I was doing was moving the cursor to correct a typo and it crashed.
SOME forums don't even lose your typed info when you accidentally load another page on the same tab, but not this one, where the vast majority of people using it frequently actually NEED it.

Very brief summary: nicotine is no more addictive than coffee, and it's no more use than B3 yes vitamin B3. They are addictive in large part due to stuff the big industry does to the tobacco to make it more 'potent'. What makes them so beneficial for ADHDers is also potentially addictive, it's almost certainly MAOI's. I had posted a lot of explanation and background info, but I can't face writing it all again, so if you want to know why, you'll have to do your own googling. Most interesting thing (though not directly related) was probably about the substantia nigra and ADHD. I also realised that I wasn't eating enough protein, even on my relatively high protein diet, but that may not be relevant to you. Possibly worth checking the figures though. I found this site very useful, along with the fact that we should all be eating at least 0.8 to 1g protein per kg of body weight and possibly more, and that's not allowing for possibly needing more than normal people.

Same here, we have moved back and Nicotine is all that has kept me ticking over until I can get all the paperwork through from GP abroad. If you find anything temporary let me know! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Same here, we have moved back and Nicotine is all that has kept me ticking over until I can get all the paperwork through from GP abroad. If you find anything temporary let me know! Do you really mean nicotine, or are you using the term to mean cigarettes? If nicotine, vitaminB3 will do the same only better,or you can get nicotine tablets or patches from lots of places, even supermarkets, possibly the same for vapour thingies. If you mean cigarettes, it's more likely the MAOI that is helping you, although it might be something the tobacco industry has processed into them that is helping (I doubt it, they've doctored them to be more addictive, not more helpful to ADHDers.) For alternative natural sources of MAOI, and or alternatives for tobacco, google brings up loads of things but even untreated tobacco is better/less toxic than commercial brands of cigarettes. Curiously, but I think it's more coincidence than effect, I had quite a lot of exposure to untreated tobacco smoke, Syrian rue seeds smoke (used as incense) and turmeric (in food) in a period in my life when I had few to no problems with ADHD symptoms, but I am still certain that it was more due to the extended family lifestyle than anything else.

Ginkgo!
High in quercetin, a natural MAOI!
In some ways that's disappointing, but I'll take the full dose this time and see if that's better. At least it did do something, even at 1/3 dose.
Also there are a bunch of others, so one of them might actually be amazing!
