Hey everyone!
I went private to get diagnosed but the DR wasn't prepared to prescribe medication due to my testosterone usage ( i take it to match normal levels of my age group not abusively)
A week later the NHS called about my referral ( 4 months after i asked my GP) and I explained how i was diagnosed privately, they said that's great, it will help speed things up.
I'm sat here over a month now after giving them my diagnosis papers, and I am so impatient I consider self medicating now...
I finally found a job I love and i don't want my ADHD to mess this one up, so I will if need be either try other consultants or self medicate. I argued with the DR over the whole testosterone thing, but in the end he said he just wasn't prepared to do so, since I'm doing it solo without help from endocrinologist or GP ( Which i had tried many many times and they said i was not in the "low enough bracket" although i was on the edge of it.)
Please I need some advice, I'm worried that going private again they may force a "re consultation" if i try another place which is expensive not to mention privately the medication isn't cheap.
I even told the DR if it means i get treatment for my ADHD ill stop testosterone replacement therapy, but his understanding that my TRT (test replacement therapy) has massively improved my life and anxiety, he did not want me to risk stopping that for the consideration of ADHD medication.
In the end he actually gave me his fee back (50%) of the total I had spent, so I am grateful there are people who are actually this kind and considerate.
I know the Nhs wont care about my testosterone levels but this waiting is just so long, (i know i know some people are waiting longer than me, a month is nothing but surely you guys know the feeling of frustration im sure)
Thank you for reading this.
