Hi all, I, like many to come soon have just been switched from brand name Concerta at a dose of 54mg to a generic version called Delmosart. This is a cost cutting exercise by the N.H.S, which I am all for. My question is does anyone have any experience of taking Delmosart? does the delivery system work the same? Do they feel the same as Concerta? I am quite an anxious person, especially when it comes to new medicine. I know it is still methylphenidate but can anyone notice the difference between the two? All answers to this question are very much appreciated! Thanks in advance, MrMunly.

I'm on Delmosart, I switched after strattera gave me side effects. I've never been on Concerta so I guess I could be wrong but it's the same drug so there shouldn't be a difference. It's going pretty well for me so far

Hey man I been on Delmosart for a month now and I let my friend who takes Concerta take one we have both agreed delmosart by far is the best. It makes you feel more chilled then the others I find the others can give me a lot of heart palpitations and makes me a little paranoid. But these I don’t even come close to it

I have changed from Concerta to delmosart in the last three days at I dont feel right the shakes and palpitations are back, gp say there is no difference but I a not buying it! it took me 17 years to get the GP's to believe that I have ADD i am 46 there must be something that the patient can do to make doctors to listen

Yes, you must argue your cause via formal written letters.
Good luck

Delmosrt doesn't use osmotic pump (+22% of the drug in the coating outer layer) for a slow controlled release so - it obviously will be different.

I started on 18mg and went up to 36mg prolonged release, was prescribed this by my psychiatrist for ADHD, been on them for 2 years now, also on a beta blocker to control anxiety propranolol 80mg slow release. My experience or how it makes me feel, may be subjective, but I have a heightened awareness opposed to the (rare) days I don't take it, I find my self efficacy (not self esteem) is improved, I find my eyes become dry as I forget to blink sometimes, I am aware (if this makes sense) of my brain, my motivation to do things and to get things finished now provides a personal high or heightened sense of achievement irrespective of other people knowing, where as before I believe I was afraid of finishing things in-case they did not meet my ridiculously inflated sense of perfection. I am also aware that my ability to process (this has taken time) the deluge of thoughts, I would sometimes get in certain situations, a lot easier, they no longer hijack my decision making process which would leave me feeling very confused. Delmosart made me slightly more impulsive which I was able to check, also my ability to ignore peripheral distractions, flys buzzing, people peeling lables off bottles and the "notorious" crisp eating bag rustler, when in lectures, was greatly appreciated. Bottom line (literally), some may feel slightly overwhelmed at first, don't skip days as any tolerance is lost, be careful of getting too absorbed with social media, limit FB.
