First of all please forgive me if I've posted in the wrong place I'm New here. I'm currently on 50mg of elvanses. On the lower doses of stmimulants I seem to be ok. I was diagnosed at 30. Before that from ages 1-25 I had little self awareness of the fact my concerntration was screwy. I lived off caffeine. I have tried concerts and up to 54mg I was ok but on 72mg of this med I felt like I had bipolar disorder. I felt physically I'll. I've tried adhd meds for around 5 months now. I'm starting a new job. The e lvanses seems to put me in a good mood for the first four or five hours then I get a dip around 5pm and just want to sleep. I'm not sleeping or eating well or looking after myself. I have literally got to the point where I really don't know what to do ir where to go for help. I've suffered depression for many years and I'm on mitzapine and citalapram for it. I don't think coming off them would be a mistake but I feel like 'hyped up' all the time and wondered if anyone had any advice before I give up altogether.

Hi angelfacecuti75 It sounds like you're still in the process of finding what meds are right for you. If you're experiencing an evening crash on Elvanse, your specialist might be able to prescribe some IR dexamphetamine or a second dose of elvanse . . you need to discuss this with them . . .everyone reacts differently to meds and then need to be tailored to what works best for you . . also talk about your use of antidepressants, as your problems may have ADHD at their root and if you find a meds regime that works, you may not need them . . also ask for help with eating and sleeping. . .even if it's temporary, while you get used to meds.

Thank you very much for replying & you're right I'm trying to find what works best. I was on concerta* & it seemed to have a similar effect. I've emailed my add nurse but gave nd taken my add meds today as I just wanted to feel 'normal '. I've been on them for a good few months now . My mitazapine helps me sleep. So I've kinda been replying on that. The not eating has been much worse since upping it a week or so ago . I've emailed and told him as best I can (adhd nurse) that im struggling it really felt like i had bipolar yesterday ! But I didn't eat much so maybe that's why
