Has anyone else changed from Instant release methylphenadate to delayed release.
This has been suggested following a rather inconclusive review with a consultant ( who to cut a long story short didnt really listen to my issues)
In the 5 years I have been taken IR MPH I have found it of varying benifit and have developed tactics for varying dosage depending on what I am doing. I tried explaining this to the consultant but .....
My feeling is that DR would be more of a sledge hammer than IR.
Particularly as I am not being offered titration by a specialist. I am expected to make the change with my GP who doesnt have any specific experience.

Has anyone else changed from Instant release methylphenadate to delayed release. *Bump* Am also looking for info on this if anyone has any insight....also what dose I would need of delayed or extended release to roughly equate with taking Instant release 3 times daily? And is an IR top-up required for a 12 hour working day? Am hoping to overcome the 'peaks and troughs' of IR MPH as currently struggle terribly from scattiness and tiredness for about 1.5 hours between doses when taken every 4 hours. Don't say 'ask your psych' as she seemed clueless - said one 20mg ER tab per day is same as 3x 20mg IR doses (which seems to completely contradict what I've read on this forum so far). She also claimed it lasts for 24 hours - so presumably sleep is no longer a requirement for normal functioning 😮
