I was diagnosed with ADHD around 5 months ago after years of denial and avoiding having the assessment. It was a really quick process and took less than 3 months. I have been prescribed Xaggitin XL and I’ve almost stopped fidgeting as before I couldn’t ever stop moving and helped with concentration and massively with sleep. But my memory is so bad. I’m constantly getting in trouble at work for forgetting to complete tasks. Someone will ask me to do something or tell me something and it doesn’t seem to store in my brain. Has anyone got any suggestions of how I can improve memory. I’ve tried to write things down etc, but then I forget that I’ve written it down. Although my work is very understanding and I have a good manager, it’s getting to the point that it’s affecting my ability to do the job and I’m seriously concerned it’ll end up displinary action and I’m desperate to find a solution.
So if anyone has any suggestion I would really appreciated it.

U have 2 write it down somewhere that u r going 2 be able 2 see it or on something u have 2 constantly check
In my last job as a delivery driver I wrote every instruction on my delivery sheet
So every time I got the customer 2 sign I saw it.
I think postit notes r a good idea 4 some jobs
I'm in a different job now & still working out where 2 write stuff so I'll see it
I was writing stuff in a notebook which has sort of helped coz then I've gone home & read through it
but that's just helpful 4 stuff I need 2 do everyday no good 4 special instructions just 4 that day.
Also it's a bit embarrassing writing down stuff that should be easy 2 remember
especially as my colleagues don't no that I have ADHD & I'm not sure if my managers no or not
I'm still on my trial period & desperately trying 2 impress
So far I've had about 6 bollockings off my trainer 4 not listening or paying attention or concentrating
plus when I have 4gotten something he's saved my bacon & managed 2 fix it 4 me
Unfortunately he was on holiday the other week so I got a full on called 2 the office bollocking by my manager
& as of nxt week I'm on my own so I really need 2 get a suitable system in place too.
Good luck with ure memory issues if I find anything else that works I'll let u know
Likewise if u discover any strategies let me no so I can give it a go.

Bananas, B12, magnesium, sunshine, gym (weights not cardio), sauna.
If you can find an app or an old watch, set a discreet timer/alarm for every 60 seconds so only you are aware when it is continually going off on your wrist/in your pocket.
This should help to constantly force yourself out of daydream mode and back to the present.

I’ve tried the writing down and post it notes and reminders on the phone none which don’t work . as it’s the conversations I have when I can’t write it down that I forget. And when I’d write it down I can’t remember where I wrote it . and when I put it on my phone often forget to save it. But I do find it really useful to write a list of what I have to do in a day and normally dont loose it but don’t often remember to write it
