Hello all.
I'm 90% certain I have ADHD but only really come to that conclusion in the last year (I'm 35!). Now at the point where I'm wondering a few things...
1) Will the NHS entertain me to get a diagnosis 2) Is there any point? What happens then? Can they even do anything to help me?
Here looking for support, answers and ideas for focus etc.
Thanks!

Yes....yes....who knows. What happens next in my opinion depends on the support that comes with it. I thought that I would be ok with just meds but as it turns out I needed alot more support which I had to go private and also get help from a local charity both are excellent.
I'm 43 found out a few months ago and I thought like you. If anything it's worth knowing one way or another and if you want to get medication that's up to you iv met people who are happy and have learned coping strategies but do not use medication.

Hi Jessop, I for some reason can’t see original post but I like you, thought I would be ok with just the medication I was given (elvanse). It helped at first but now not so much. I have not been offered any other support as an Adult with ADD. I was diagnosed last year after experiencing symptoms since childhood. I have been told by my psychiatrist that medication is really all they can offer me. It is great to hear that you have been able to get help privately. I will look into that too. Would be great to find some coping mechanisms that work for me.
