Hi, you mentioned on the other thread re meds side effects you were experiencing. What are they? I’m starting my meds this week.

Hi Marfs,
I'm new to the forum but I am an adult male who has been on medication for nearly 2 years now through the NHS, I am on Elvanse, also known as lisdexamfetamine or dextroamfetamine, what medication are they going to put you on if you know?
I have had remarkably little side effects from the medication it's self but of course, it can differentiate for everyone. Its good to be aware of what other medications interact with ADHD medication so you have a good idea of how to responsibly use it.
its quite common for people to suffer from disturbed sleep or trouble getting to sleep when they are getting adjusted to their medication, that was the case for me for the first week or so. Always take stimulants first thing in the morning unless otherwise advised by your medical professional.
Best of luck with your journey! it was a real eye-opener when I got on medication for the first time, I would describe it as the same sensation of trying glasses on for the first time - seeing life in HD for the first time, but THINKING in HD for the first time!

Thank you so much for replying. I have been prescribed the same thing. 30mg dose. Will check my blood pressure tomorrow and then start taking them on Saturday. Your feedback sounds amazing. I’m feeling a bit less nervous now! Thank you!!
