Hi,
I'm struggling so much with my focus and I just compulsively procrastinate. I've been putting off one piece of work I am sure I could probably do if I could focus but I just cannot make myself start. Literally no words.
I have medication but I'm not sure if it's not the right dose yet or not.
I'm procrastinating right now by doing this but I really would like to know what helps people here when they get this stuck down? I know it's dumb I just don't understand why I can't just make myself start.
Thank you

Two points here. One, that you may not be on the right meds. Secondly, meds aren’t a panacea so you may need to develop better habits (Maybe speak to an ADHD mentor or coach?). However, I suspect it’s the former simply because the meds are supposed to assist with the motivation aspect. Mine definitely have, although I can still put things off but it’s easier to override that aspect. What are you on and how long for? When did you last get them reviewed?

Am suspected adhd but not officially yet 🙄🙄🤔 However I’ve get patterns of this all the time & the way I’ve learn too cope with it, not let it worry me & start the task in very small bites But sometimes I’ve literally waited a week! Like just dreading 😟 it I then I get my mindset in two slowly starting a little part of the task & boom am stuck into & generally finish pretty quickly after that Until the next cycle begins 😆 I do wonder what regular meds would do! I also have my doubts but since both my kids have been diagnosed & on medication for years I have tried it & first time was like 🤩 someone just switch my brain 🧠 off! I’d never felt more clam & relaxed but there was bad side effects Like toilet 🚽 & headache 🤕 after it wore off It be interesting 🧐 too see & experience what it be like on regular meds for a prolonged amount of time! Here’s hoping 🤞 still pushing for that referral
