I was wondering what people opinions were on medication vs therapy for treatment? especially if you have experience of both and have any stories to share on whether they worked for you or not!
my experience: I was diagnosed in January and started titration in April. I'm now on medication #4 with only the hyperactivity (less of an issue than attention for me) being affected slightly and multiple side effects. My adhd nurse says its the best I'm gonna get but its no where near how i hoped and expected it would help and he wants to refer me back to the doctor who diagnosed me for my final follow up before sending me back to the gp (with a repeat prescription).
After the first 2 meds didn't effect me at all i enquired about therapy but got told to focus on the meds and not give up but its the 4th one now so I'm pretty much out of hope that the people who diagnosed me will actually help me in a way that doesn't include throwing medication at me.
I really want to try with therapy but i just have no idea where i can get the help and if i could even get it within 6 months!

I abandoned meds as they felt too "narcotic" to me and my partner and I noticed I was overy "sped up".
I have booked 12 weeks of CBT
Starts next week.
Will report back.
I am back on the coffee

Had my first CBT session.
I am to keep a diary (mainly of things that make me angry / insulted)
I have a few situations noted down to pick through with the therapist.
