I’ve just been referred for a first assessment- I’ve heard waiting lists are years! I live in Devon, what are my choices? Are waiting lists shorter elsewhere? What’s the cheapest private option?
Thank you for any help. Im 43 so don’t want to wait too long.

The wait is currently 5 years. They are now contacting people who've been waiting since 2017.

Have just got my referral through after about 1 year so not too bad. Had to fill several long forms in.

Having a phone appointment with Haydock MC ADHD on 1st May. Hopefully will soon be getting treatment. Glad it's by phone as I was dreading the complicated 3 bus journey.

Devon here - had my assessment this morning via video call, it took 9 months from speaking to my GP to today. Got the diagnoses immediately and am now waiting for the psychiatrist appt for medication which I’m hoping will be quick. Honestly I thought it would take a lot longer as my daughters autism diagnoses was a 2 year waiting game.
