Well, just had my phone consultation and they were very helpful. Lots of questions about my childhood and current mental state. Hopefully tomorrow I will start on Xagattin 18mg (slow release Ritalin).
They take referrals from Lancashire GPs.

How long ago were you referred? I was referred about 2 months ago now, but can't find anything online about their waiting list, and don't particularly fancy trying to ring through to find out. My GP will only tell me "very long" - eek!

My GP will only tell me "very long" - eek! It took about a year with me. The problem now is I'm having trouble getting the meds they prescribed for me!

Is that the place sort of Warrington or skelmersdale area? I think that's who I've been referred to out of Cumbria.
If it is then I've been waiting since something like 2nd of November last year, 2022.
I tried to find out status after 9 months, like I was told by the gp, but they just gave me a number and told me to call them myself. I did that and despite being very friendly I got a snotty receptionist who told me they'd had the referral but don't call them again as they only deal with GPs or their surgery staff. So when I needed to chase again after a years wait I told my GP office manager that I wanted them to chase this time. She accepted that quietly. I guess she figured out I was in a mood to argue! I'm not calling Haydock again, their backroom staff need customer service training and an attitude removal operation! Plus it's my gp that made the referral not me, they know the system and have status too
Sorry to be a complainer on here. I first tried to get a diagnosis over 5 years ago. Got told back then that there were no adult adhd services available to be referred to so that was that. After reading on here of a change in NICE guidelines I went back for a referral. My gp told me the last referral he made took 2 to 3 months, my behind! It's over a year and 1 month so far. I think it'll be 2 years somehow.
Here's hoping I last out in my new, proper job until then!
