So, I was stumbling around the net and found this article from 2008. www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1074175/How-I-weaned-son-Ritalin-proved-discipline-IS-better-drugs.htmlNow, I find that quite irritating tbh, as even though I have not been Dx with AD/HD, I know how impossible it is to control myself. Therefore, the question is. Did he really have what is currently known as AD/HD? or was he just literally spoiled, obnoxious, rebellious etc? I mean..for god sake. I am now 34 and most attitudes should have calmed in me..but I still have strong symptoms of AD/HD. I would love to see the woman say...well just follow what I did.. Opinions please..

The Hate Mail is notorious for its anti ADHD stance.
So they whip up hysteria and 'disprove' things with the most flimsy, and crap, research.
Stimulant drugs aren't for everyone.
And 'discipline' (ie structured approach) can be effective.
So it's the usual bollox twisted with their rubbish logic of good old fashioned discipline is what is good for everyone. Bring back National Service and hanging!
ADHD depresses house prices and is an invention of gay immigrant benefit scroungers. With AIDS.
It's not a big stretch to black jews, but they can't get away with that any more.

It's just news, after all An opinion, nothing more. Unfortunately, most people will take that as gospel........ :/

Sounds more like Asperger's than ADHD. Newspapers don't get everything right, for example this has many holes in it: tinyurl.com/n46tdrNot least that Bubbles is alive and well somewhere in California. I say 'well' - apparently he is pining for his former owner so I presume he has a good grasp of English and access to newspapers or perhaps he owns a TV... tinyurl.com/lmjc2aAnd that is an article generally considered to have a lot more journalistic integrity than the first one (whether or not you support its political stance).

what can you say about this sort of stuff?...
it's one womans claims, being reported as if they disprove decades of medical research. and it's frankly ridiculous!
also it sounds like, if he does have ADHD, it's certainly not his only problem, this is how she describes him as a child.
-knew there was something different about him before he was a year old. -There was no eye contact, -He didn't like being touched or hugged, -He did not take any interest in toys and would never sit still -and he developed an obsession with lightbulbs. -Jake did not speak until he was three -Jake constantly interrupts when you are talking - he can't read social interaction
then she goes on; -"The couple separated when Jake was three, but this did not overly affect him because he does not become emotionally engaged with other people"
Whilst there is some overlap, i agree with Atticus, these symptoms are clearly more similar to aspergers or other ASD than ADHD alone.
I HATE THE DAILY MAIL!!!!!
i believe there comes a time when lazy journalism strays into willful disinformation!
-MM (edited for daft spelling mistake!) ;D
