Hi Can anyone interested please sign our E-Petition. Thanks in advance. petitions.number10.gov.uk/ADHDAttention/It is required that government make it Statutory, that the Youth Justice Board, Youth Offending Teams, Probation and Prison Services and that of other bodies/organisations involved in the Criminal Justice System use the appropriate Mental Health screening tools and that those who have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. (ADHD) or an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is registered so that such figures are obtained in which to provide evidence on numbers of this group coming through the Criminal Justice System. That timely treatment, interventions and education are implemented for those with ADHD/ASD who for whatever reason enter our criminal justice system and provided the appropriate support to that of their needs upon release from any penal establishment. Many thanks all Honey

Hi Madscott
Where in Wishaw you from? My hometown and went to Coltness High then Wishaw High, family still in Wishaw.
With regards to numbers with ADHD in Young Offenders is quite high but the sad thing is, these youngsters are being failed on release with no transition into community mental health services.
One of our MP's here has been super and gets lots of stuff raised for us in the House of Commons. Look on Hansard and search ADHD. Every time ADHD is raised it shows on this site.
This is why we are launching a new project for Homeless Young People with ADHD aged 16-25--provision of Supported Housing.
Catch you all later and thanks all who signed, greatly appreciated. x

Honey Im from Coltness lol Next time your visiting family, you are more than welcome to join me for some light refreshments. Im a very hospitable chap for a Wishaw Boy And what you are saying about young people and ADHD is very close to home. I could easily have went down the worng path, and I did right up until I was fifteen or so. Amazingly I stopped getting myself into trouble at a stroke and then went to college/uni. Unfortunately I think the main reason was me finding cannabis. I started smoking it and all of a sudden calmed down, stopped stealing, getting into trouble for everything and anything, and started studying. Is it just me or is this an amazing story Cannabis isnt something which Im condoning by any means, but for me, I found my medicine. Hmmm that sounds like Im glorifying it but I certainly am not. I think the pharma industry is wanting to have a good look at it and find some useful purposes for it though. The reason Im telling you guys this is because I no longer feel like I need to hide these things. I was the definition of a tearaway, luckily for me though I calmed down before it was too late. I am telling this also because I now realise that if I dont start to speak up and tell the world then some poor youngster will get ignored and will go down the worng path. I might make a difference somewhere along the line Im so proud of what I have become by the way people. Thank you to everyone here for helping me find myself. Its an amazing voyage of discovery when you learn all about this stuff aint it

If not, here is the link freespace.virgin.net/nick.child/lanadhdproto.htmDon't know why I kept this info all this time? Anyways, hope it may be of some help but from my understanding the author was a bit---ooooh so OTT and on too much malt with the Iron Bru? Best wishes Honey x
