i always seem to be looking out of windows, this almost always happens at university, we have these huge windows in our classes and i find myself looking out at the buildings, people walking outside, cars, birds(ones that fly), clouds, nice blue skies, trains. and the thing is i never EVER see anyone else doing this, everyones head is firmly set towards the front of the class. as you can imagine i never know what the hell im meant to be doing after the lecturer stops talking.

Yes zed,
It is much easier to observe things in your way than to listen/learn which takes much more effort. What about your favourite subjects? How does that change your inattentive traits?

I'm always looking out of windows, and generally watching everything I'm not supposed to watch, I would never know what we had to do in class. I always tell people 'sorry I have bad hearing' cos I feel really guilty that I haven't taken in a word they've said!

yup its just so easy for me to get distracted, even when theres no windows. i'll always try and look around the room for something to look at like the air conditioning vents above, whats going on in the other class next door, looking at people around the class, i'll play with my chair levers, play with the blinds...even in my favourite subjects i will be perfectly fine for the first 5 minutes before i get bored and look for something else to do.

Yes, Looking out of windows is FUN. You can watch an old busy body who patrols the double yellows outside her window. Count the Ambulances coming to take away the infirm and dying. You can even use your laser pointer to spook a youth peeing against a wall. Or report the binmen to HSE for riding on the hydraulic bin lift on their lorry. Until you have to face the consequences of accounting for all that time not spent on your employers business.
I have started to keep the blinds down to prevent solar gain.
