I keep crying, im angry frustrated every slightest thing is stressing me, im taking it out on my partner i cant focus on nothing, i just want to run away from the world.

Sorry you are feeling so low, life really does suck at times. Just try to remember how lovely it can be too and know that you are on the path to being able to experience that more often and for longer.
All the best

i really don't think you're in the best situation, when the doc tells you to stop taking one drug and start taking another at the same time, how do you know whether the side effects are comming from taking concerta, or comming off antidepressants!...
even apart from the meds, things seem pretty hard for you at the moment!
maybe you should keep a diary during the day, saying how you feel at various times, when waking up, 1hr after taking Concerta etc... then maybe every hour, right through to when you go to bed, then you can see if your feelings follow any sort of pattern, this info could help to decide if the feelings you have of shakes etc are related to the concerta or something else.
-my thoughts are with you vicky! ;D -matt

im sorry to hear your having such a hard time keeping a diary is a good idea, i find it helps letting it out even on paper, then youd have something to show the psychiatrist too. and letting it out on hear too if you feel like it. i hope you start to feel better soon ;D

I don't think concerta (timed release ritalin (methylphenidate) would be responsible for those irritating symptoms in many cases. I don't understand why you had to come off anti=depressants.
I presume it's a Serotonin re uptake inhibitor that you are on. Depression symptoms can easily match those that you mention. My uncle is a failure without 40MG citalopram each day. 20mg or less and he just starts to space out I suppose.
I have been taking 20,40mg citalopram, 20mg prozac, then 20mg citalopram for 12 months now and it's done crap all for. I even came off them for months without any problem.
SSRI's literally really only work for people who need more serotonin. Once it gets low again oh dear.....you will have problems.
I would deal with the professionals and see if they agree that ssri's should be prescribed again....
I would stop taking the concerta and see what happens.....If nothing changes after a few days, then you can draw your own conclusions... After all, you have only started on concerta, but you have been on anti-depressants for how long? Are they ssri's or Selective Norepinephrine Re-uptake Inhibitors.?
Just read your body's signs.....

Just to mention i was give citalopram on top of my atomoxatine so maybe that would work for you dont know why you would have to come off though for concerta?

hhmm that article is interesting andy ;D ive tried fluoxitine (twice), citalapram (made me feel like i was crazy), dosulapine and seroxat, all with limited or no effect. so maybe im not that deficient in seratonin. i actually feel the same now ive stopped the seroxat. the thing that has helped the most is this forum and reading about ad/hd. interesting

Hang on in there! Sorry you are having such a low time, I echo the question of why take you off the antidepressants? I think stopping the Concerta such for a day or two might help, however, I am not a physchiatrist, but if I were in your shoes , I would consider whether this med was the right one, especially since your side effects are interfering with your daily life and relationship,
take care, visit here again , let us know how your doing x

Hi Vicky
Sorry to hear you are feeling so low hun and can only repeat what others have said.
Knowing of the experiences my son encountered during trials of different meds, it was horrible to watch but with trial and effort from all involved, his meds were finally balanced and fine-tuned with Concerta xl and Risperdal and he has never looked back.
Do you have a CPN Vicky (Community Psychiatric Nurse) or service users advice centre that can just provide you with someone to talk things through with. Having someone at the end of a telephone can often help babes.
My thoughts are with you hun, just hang on in there and I hope everything works out for you soon.
Honey x

Thank you all for your very kind words and advice have stopped shaking today and not quite as tearful as was yesterday. Ive spoken to cpn where i see psyciatrist and they refuse point blank to put in support until i go and see psychiatrist in another 2 weeks, then they will, they said just need concerta to work and anti depressants to come out system, and to try and relax.
Its frustarting why is a pill the furst point off call for any diagnoisis why dont they treat the in dividual person and offer support to comes to terms with things and offer me self esteem counselling which ive been begging for, for many years I know what i need, do you have to get so bad you slit your wrists in this country before they help you and by that time its alot harder(im not suicidal by the way just angry with system and self).
I cant believe a magic tablet can put you right i believe it takes more other wise why a proper so called mental health sertvice in the first place.
Ive been looking for answers to this for years even when i was diagnosed with dyspraxia they offered no support or help,so ultimately i carried on screwing everything up. I dont want to be like thgis I want the help and will do what they say
Soirry for rant, im going on holiday tommorow perhaps change scenary will do me good.
Once again Thank you. Youhave all helped get me through a very difficult week,i hope I can beof help to you to. xx
