Are you going to be 'out' or hidden?
I never trusted my general workmates/management with knowing about ADHD - I let a trusted few and my team-mates know about it and spent a lot of time explaining it to them.
I usually (yes - usually......I've probably had >2 years off in the last 10) burst in shouting greetings to the usual suspects and, if they asked, told them I'd been off with stress (which it usually was).
My self esteem (usually poor) was boosted by being 'official' and having the confidence of knowing what was what at last.
Going back itself is quite easy - you may take a day or two to get into the swing again, maybe you could start late on day one, which should include your return to work interview.
I'd think very hard about what you are going to tell the workmates and management - I kept it between myself and HR + OH doctor but if you want any 'accomodations' then you may have to justify them to workmates without incurring jealousy.
I was lucky - I could just tell everyone I was insane (which worked very well for me).

Hiya Meggie,
I would suggest giving yourself a bit more time to get your head around your diagnosis first. It sounds like you're still a little in-shock?? Tell people when you're ready not under pressure..
Just try to ease yourself back to work without too much of a hoohaa. Just get your head down with the job.
You'll be fine, good luck with it, its better to try to get back into your old routine x

yeah, just slide in quietly and hope no-one notices you're back! ;D
people will be interested and ask you why you were off and stuff, but they're just being nosey 'cos you comming back is the only interesting thing in the office that day!... -in 2 weeks time they'll have moved on to the next exiting thing, and forgotten you were ever off!
the most important thing is just to relax and take it easy!
it'll take you a few months to come to terms with your diagnosis, sort out your meds etc... but when that's done you'll be unstoppable!
the most important advice i can give is this: resist the urge to walk out!!!!
it's such an ADHD thing to go back for a morning, decide the world's against you and just not go back after lunch! so please try not to do that! ;D
