Just to be difficult, I use my left hand for some things (e.g. sports), my right for others (e.g. writing--I was made to do this in kindergarten), and switch between hands as convenient for others (e.g. hammering nails). I'm hopeless with directions, however, because I keep getting mixed up between left turns and right turns. One of the reasons that I'm often late for meetings and appointments (apart from stopping to watch swans ;D) (and from leaving too late) is that I frequently get lost on the way And now I must go away and fill out some forms for the Ombudsman! I'm clearly procrastinating

Roland, go do the forms !!! Laura, i am very right handed and pretty useless with my left, but i text with my left hand (well thumb lol) and struggle with my right to co-ordinate when texting - wierdness much! and i can switch if hammering etc, but wouldnt know about sports cos i am far too lazy to know If I park I have to swing in left and hate parking to my right (i will if i really have to of course but not through first choice) and anyway, i am not sure what that tells me, cept i am crap at parking lol if i am on the phone i have the phone to my left ear, so would say if i were to write with my ear, i would be a lefty.... but i dont so i'm not ;D ooo i am totally going off on a silly one today, can you tell i am bored at work, so much for concentrating my dad is amphibious, ooops i mean ambidextrous and can switch between the 2 but not for handwriting either, a bit like our roland up there. and i still get lost in certain parts around my home town, directions not really my strong point either, my OH reckons i could get lost finding my way to the kitchen ;D................. actually he's probably right there

Yep, I'm left handed.
Interested in Matt's peculiar skill of kicking with his hand? What he's describing seems more like spanking.

I'm ambidextrous - I eat left handed, write right handed etc. This is apparently a trait associated with dyslexia. Most of my family are the same as me on this one.
Though I can only write well with my right hand my little one writes equally well with either?!? She can't seem to pick up a guitar and play it right handed though lol.
Happened to spend the afternoon with my sister in law taking the mickey - I couldn't follow her directions because sometimes I know my left and right and sometimes I really really don't! It feels like my brain only keeps bare essential skills/knowledge in it at any one time and files the rest away when I'm not using it? Anyone else feel like this?

WEll i started off being left handed as a toddler but my parents, being teachers, were concerned for me having a tricky time at school (?) & trained me to use my right, never looked back! Typical 70's parents!

matt, trouble pmsl ;D tiny little finger legs, cool i cant tell between my left and right most of the time, i do the thing where you hold up your hands and your left hand makes an L so its left people that ask for directions look at me strange because i have to imagine im going there so, turn around alot, do left right hand thing while im giving the directions to them, and even after all that when theyve gone i usually work it out again in my head and find i gave them the wrong directions. ooops ;D i cant follow maps either, i once walked my friend half an hour in the wrong direction because i had the map and i was right (well i thought i was) i always know the quickest way to go anywhere and am always right (even tho im never right hope you got your forms filled roland
