I think that sometimes you just have to try it.
There are some nutrients that are proven beyond doubt..ascorbic acid for instance....naturally obtained that it..citrus fruits, can't guarantee for tablets or even effervescent.
Omega 3 hmmmm, try it, what more can you do, but give it a fair go and get a reputable (if possible) brand.
I think that the human body is amazingly complex, needing say, 15 minerals, 10 vitamins, amino acids, fats, etc......then you have genetic issues......who's to say what works and what does not?

I ignored the psychi adviced and am trying 5htp omega3 magnisium and multi vitamin nothing ventured nothing gained is my moto, like you, Its worth a try.

I tried massive doses of the 5-HTP from Holland and barrett but I did not notice any difference on my serotonin levels, not even subtle.
Just remember one thing at a time.........
