After seeing consultant again he said i definately have adhd fantastic. All these years of struggling and trying hard at everything I do to fall flat on my face, and people saying, you should lsten, you never learn from your mistakes, do one thing at a time, organise your self more, prioritiese, dyspraxia, why cant you hold a job down, you have an attitude problem.
All these years of feeling usless cause no matter how hard i tried never seemed to get anywhere. Now I have an answer at 33 for it, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, now |I can tell my parents and family believe me when I said I was trying my best, now they wont get angry with me anymore, now I can build up my self esteem and maybe like who I am.
They said it wont happen over night as cant change 33 years of behaviour like that, but in about a year I should be 70% improved, im so relieved its untrue.
Now I now what im up against best £400 spent especially as nhs are funding rest treatment.
THANK YOU, THANKYOU THANK YOU to this website I found other like minded people and im not alone and I found the contact for the specialist from here to.

Thanks for regards, was nice to see people from work it was a real social part of my life gone that I miss I had a real good laugh but hated the work in general, and politics.
Horrible part about having loads of jobs never make many long freindships because before you know it your back on the dole.
The job center am at at the moment are so unproffesional, unpleasant and condesending real bad culture seems to have evolved.

Some I have been to over the years have been fine might get the odd idot but this one is somthing else its not just the attitude they have managed to totaly mess up my claim the guy who took my interview I ended up sitting there wondering who helped him get dressed in the morning and then there being quiet unpleasant even though they are giving a bad services, and I still have no money since the start of the month.

Thanx everyone, i thinking they are gonna put me on waiting list for cognitive behaviour theraphy and start me on amoxtine?. Brillent, i must test my smoke alarms now you have put idea im my head ill do that now or ill forget and the thought will be gone forever. Thanks guys.
One more big question or actually two. How do work collegues percieve you? and what stratergies do you put in place at work to help you focus (perhaps this should be a new thread). I go back on 5th November and am dreading it.

Meggie,
Same meds as me need to build up dose slow or will make you drowsy, I dont like having on empty stomache or without fluids as seems to dry you out. Have even had really painfull indergestion sensation from taking on emty stomache, but went in like five munites.
The work thing tricky one some places are like every man for themselves other places I have found you just fit and no probs its a hard one to give a straight answer, need to find something that suits you I think thats why alot of people think of working in care is a good option as should be more open minded to MH issues, but I couldnt say.

My psychi said I have to be very patient as it cant be cured overnight to, ( anybody who knows me knows this is very hard for me) but Im gonna try.
How are things with you and job hunting? Have you had many jobs is this an adhd norm, I'm tgrying to getnhead round it.

I've finally got a diagnosis after 23 years of confusion & anger. Now that people know more about me i'm hoping to go to college in September & actually complete a course in order to get a decent job.
My life now sort of makes sense.

I either want to study music which is a subject that i've always been into, or do an access course and go to uni. Fingers crossed i don't lose interest.
