Ooooooh - I had a bipolar GF for a few years. That went from 'quite sparky' to 'explosive'. It ended badly (no - I didn't kill her!)

I think there's a saying "people always want what they can't get." and "familiarity breeds contempt" and whatever.

The more I look at ADHD and Bi polar I find it hard to see the diffrence?
Ive come back to look at this video and now think its very unclear, and Ive just been to a dpresion work shop and see similar symtoms being talked about even memory loss andger and insomnia Im totally confused?

Bipolar sounds similar to ADHD but it's more of a mood disorder (where thinking gets disturbed by extreme mood) whereas ADHD is a functioning disorder (mood gets disturbed by extreme thinking).
There's more to it but that's a reasonable thumbnail sketch of it.
And in practice you will know the difference - a bipolar in manic phase is beyond hyperactive (the paranoid delusions can get you sectioned) where an ADHDer is more likely to go to jail for extreme behaviour.

Thanks for that dave, just looking at that video started to think not much in it as doesnt realy explain in any detail so left wide open to interpretation. I wonder how many proffesionals know this eg I go to depression session and explain symtoms and they think am just bipolar?
No one has by the way just thinking of experiences of bad dx some have had.
Just to mention noticed there is a similar titled thread running and I didnt post this like a know it all I was on utube looking at the lack of decent adult UK ADHD videos and saw this and posted it was thinking of doing one got my camera out but thats about as far as I have got so far.
Think we need more basic stuff like that out there to help promote funding understanding etc.
