Don't know if the attachment works Here's the blurb I had to put with it: “Volume” People with ADHD often struggle with filtering out: Sounds that they do not need to be listening to, but can seem so loud and distracting as to almost dominate something they are trying to focus on, such as a one to one conversation. Thoughts that do not relate to the “here and now”. Possibly worries and anxieties concerning matters separated from them in time and space. Thoughts intrude about “what has happened?” “what will happen?” and “what is happening somewhere else?”. “Volume” shows nine volume controls, all set to ten - maximum. The first three are examples of environmental distractions: Traffic noise; background conversation; and laughter, in this case the loud, intrusive mirth from another group of people outside the conversation on which one might be trying to focus. The second three show possible emotional/cognitive distractions, in this case relating to insecurity. The final three, like “hope” at the bottom of Pandora’s box use maximum volume as a metaphor for some of the positive qualities associated with ADHD. (Entrant code 112) Hope they're doing wine and nibbles at La Galleria!! ;D Attachments:
