Just wondering how much some of you pay for your GAS heating on a pay as you go meter card or key system currently per day or week or whatever timeunit suits you.
I'm not talking about bahama temps, perhaps just to the point of not getting ice cube feet ie say 20Celsius 68 fahrenheit. Any consistent data will be handy particularly with the current temps.
Obviously, my calculation will end up a bit hit and miss but I am curious to see ranges.

though it could easily be double or treble that at my last house, it had no insulation and massive gaps in the windows and doors, ive decided from now on to only go for good rating houses from now on, glad u have to give a rating to houses by law since last year
it may make house builders plan better insulated houses

Our direct debit for gas has just been reviewed. With zero debt tis costing £39 (£50 annual discount tho) per month to heat 3/4 bed (1950's built) house. Thermostat set to 17.5 oC most of the time, occasionally upped to 20 oC. Heating on between oct n feb usually; heating pretty much on solidly. Not using gas to cook tho.
Used to be really careful about how used heating, till realised was only consuming higher rate units, saved very very little by cutting down while on current tariff. Cutting electic use saves me loads. Cutting gas use saves virtually nothing and makes everyone miserable.
If I had to use pay as you go gas, I'd get a social tariff if eligible? Npower do 'spreading warmth' I think. £120 discount added to account in jan if I remember right? British gas do something similar - but they come out and add credit to the pay as you go meter 2x per yr.

Thanks, it helps a bit..
For us, average gas cooking is 60p/day although with a working large oven, it could be perhaps 70p/day (data derived during summer -- no heating. Ah maybe some more hot water cost with some people taking baths, say 20p day extra. That is £27/month for gas cooking + hot water for a family of 3 with 1 very uneconomic member. your canoeing may vary.........
