and i dont mean clutter as in junk (even though i do have tons of junk), no i mean the speech kind.
i've been on here before mainly moaning about how i talk really fast and how its really hard for me to get my point through to people. i read some of the symptoms of adhd and talking fast was one of them but it seems that even though you guys are talking fast YOU STILL MAKE SOME SENSE!
me on the other hand i make no sense what so ever. you might be wondering that probably on the wrong forum but it seems that cluttering is usually asociated with adhd and many other things.
thing is i dont what to tell the doctor and if did what could he do? im tired of being looked at as if im stupid, i know the words they just come out wrong.

Well zed, firstly WHY do you talk fast? i dont know, i tell myself "okay slow it down when you talk" but once i open my mouth that goes right out the window. its like i know what i want to say but when i talk its nothing like how i wanted. and even if i slow it down i have to slow it down really low just to get some words out. i dont stutter so much but i occasionally repeat the first word i say.

Well, sounds like you done got adhd lol or certainly the symptoms. As for doing 20 drafts of what you actually want to say, in your brain, the cluttering definition fits you. Is it just another perfectionism trait?
I'm not sure if cluttering can be treated with adhd medications etc.

I was just going to say the same thing Zed..Could be a Speech/language referral..I know we all go on and on here, no names lol..But talking really fast, & muddling up/struggling with the order of sentences etc, may need more specialised help...?
Although, my o/h finds socialising impossible too, it takes him far longer than the norm, to decipher what people are saying to him, reorder that info in his head, think of something to say back, (all the while the convo has changed)..This isn't all the time, but can be highly embarrasing for him..Basically he's slower than me at processing & talking, the opposite to you, but equally debilitating..He's dyslexic.

Im dyslexic to Simone, and slow to process things. But your partner and you must be so proud look at the fantastic job he has. People must like him as well as respect him. Plus he has the support of a fantastic women behind him. Its hard life but its the way we handle it that matters. I love socialising just dont get chance, im at stage in life when everyone has children or have extremely busy lifes. So I dont get chance to met up as often as like with my friends or family. Plus Im getting to stage where couldnt care less what people think of me anymore.

Aww thanks Meg..He does have a good job, but i wouldn't say he's a natural 'people person' to put it mildly!! It doesn't matter to me, i like a challenge! Its choosing the right job i guess, i need to gabble to people all day, he stares at screen..so fine..
it would be a very boring world without inperfection?

Talking about talking, I find it hard to realise what I want to ask or say after people have told me things. I get out the place I've been n realise 'oh my God, I should have asked this, I should have asked about that, I should have asked what that meant, ro how it was meant' but while I'm in there it's like I go blank, and it's very fucking annoying, and very frustrating especially when it's something important I'm at the place for, or seeing someone about. It means I have to wait months to ask the things I should have said the first time around Very upsetting. The other thing is that they can say one thing, n sometimes questions do come up, but they ramble on n on, n I just focus on the one question before I forget it while I'm waiting for them to pause a minute, n then I aint heard what else they've said to me. Gawd, I thought it was just me that it happened to!

this is also me. i don't talk fast all the time, mainly just when i'm telling someone something. it's like i want to get it out as fast as i can. things also sound a lot better in my head, and on here. i've got a very good grasp of english, and i know a lot of 'big words' but when i talk i make grammar mistakes, don't structure sentences as well as i could have, and sometimes stumble over words, repeating them.

LIke bullets from a machine gun, no particular aim lol.
The trouble is that more "verbally stable" people tend to get stressed out by this speech chaos.. You can see their eyes go all over the shop!

We call it MMM (Motor Mouth Mode)! When my also Inattentive type ADHD son and I are together I feel sorry for my everyone else around us. We have told family and friends to let us know if we are in MMM - but it's almost impossible to control.
On the positive side - we have been told in that when we are in MMM we never waffle and are always entertaining and/or amusing.
BTW a belated but very Happy New Year to you all and please let 2010 be a year of positives, unlike 2009 (the most awful of my life - but I'm still smiling and have a lot to be thankful for).
