Travel Support Card for people with hidden disabilities. Transport for London (TfL) is trialling a new Travel Support Card for people with ‘hidden disabilities’ – eg autism, learning disabilities and hearing impairments. The card alerts public transport staff to the passenger’s need for support or advice. It is designed to give people more confidence in asking for help, especially if communication is difficult. Chris Upfold, Accessibility and Inclusion Manager, for London Underground, said: 'This new card is designed to make life easier for people who may need extra help. For instance if a journey is disrupted for any reason, the customer can use their card to indicate to staff that they would like extra assistance or support. The card will show staff how best to help that individual customer, for example, by taking the customer to the right platform, or explaining alternative routes.’ TfL is calling for passengers with hidden disabilities to help them trial the card. Potential volunteers should contact Kathryn Lyon at TfL on 020 7027 8340. Visit the TfL website for further details at: www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/newscentre/archive/12393.aspxHoney

This is the sort of thing we should have input into.
Just what type of help does a person with ADHD need on public transport?
Personally my main problem is that I don't get to the station on time, but they are hardly likely to hold back trains just for me. (I know this sounds like a joke but it is true - a problem with the understanding of ADHD is that the symptoms sound so funny to cruel and organised people.)
What ADHD related problems have you had?

Ok - forget to renew your season ticket (or leave it in the wrong coat) and then have a lively discussion with the ticket inspectors......

Public transport = Massive anxiety! Once upon a time, it would have helped me if the Bus had pulled up automatically at the stop I wanted Would have saved me from becoming distracted by scenery/conversation into missing my stop and looking pretty darn stupid a few times.

I got a bus pass due to my deafness and my ears but it would be good to see this extended throughout the UK

This morning I went to the station, parked my car, carefully put the ticket from the car park barrier in my pocket went into the station to buy a combined parking and train ticket deal. "Can I have your car park ticket to validate it?" said the nice man. Went through every pocket, ticket nowhere to be seen. Nice man sorted it out :-). Yes it could happen to anyone as the non ADHDers will say, but it happens to me. All the time, despite being careful. I have no idea where the **** thing went.

Not quite transport related, but from time to time I will leave a cafe without paying. Get muddled by the Starbucks/ Costas of this world when you pay at the till and small places where you pay when leaving.
