My son is 26 now and I am so proud of him. He has ADHD and, as a child, would climb everything and jump over everything. As a teen he became completely nocturnal and drove us crazy. He's a clever young man and went to uni getting a 2:1 in Ecology followed by a Masters degree. He moved to Heidelberg with his girlfriend, who is German - he met her in their Masters year. He found that all jobs in Ecology involved far too much pen pushing - so now works as a carer for disabled adults. He's fluent in German to C1 level. He's decided he's never going to work more than 30 hours a week as the stress does him in. He makes ends meet by biking everywhere, and having no gadgets or computers - His phone is the same one he had at 16! I am SO proud of him I could burst. Life has not been easy for him and he's come through with lots of self awareness, far more than I ever had! We are just back from a visit and he told us he's applying to train as a nurse - exciting!!

It's lovely to hear about someone who has learned to live well with who he is.
